I invite you to find a comfortable position.
You can be sitting or lying down,
Just allowing your body to land wherever you are.
You might feel the weight of your arms or legs.
You might feel where your body is touching that which supports it.
Just allowing your body to land.
There is nothing to do,
Nothing to change.
You're just arriving.
You might just notice with your awareness the shape of your body,
The angles and the curves,
Maybe the spaces that your body is creating.
And just breathing,
Letting your breath move at its own pace,
Naturally,
And allowing your awareness to settle on your breath.
Just noticing,
Each inhale and exhale,
How it moves your body.
You might notice the curvature of the air as it enters and exits your body.
And now gently begin to lengthen your exhale.
You might inhale through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth,
Allowing that exhale to be slightly longer than your inhale.
And as you're inhaling,
You might imagine receiving.
And as you're exhaling,
You might imagine that you are nourishing your body.
Inhaling,
Receiving.
And exhale,
You're nourishing.
Almost like you're watering something small and quiet within you.
There is something in you that has continued living,
Even through stress,
Even through grief,
Through exhaustion,
Through sleepless nights,
Through responsibility.
There is something in you that has continued living.
And it may not be loud.
And it may not be blooming.
But it is here within you.
See if you can feel it somewhere in your body.
Maybe it's in your chest,
Your heart,
Your lungs.
Simply in the fact that you're breathing.
Or maybe it's in your belly or the soles of your feet.
Something in you has kept going.
Like a plant by a window.
Not dramatic.
Not demanding attention of you.
Just steadily alive.
Allow your breath,
Each inhale and exhale,
To gently water that place inside of you.
With each inhale,
Receiving.
And each exhale,
Nourishing that place inside of you.
You don't have to overhaul your entire life right now.
You don't have to solve anything.
You only have to tend to this place in your body.
And tending is not fixing.
Tending is steady,
Quiet,
Nourishing.
Tending is returning again and again.
With each exhale,
Soften around what is still alive within you.
Allow it to have space.
Before we close,
Gently bring to mind one small thing that you will tend to today.
It might be laundry,
Or a plant,
Your own rest and self-care,
Or a conversation.
Not because you have to,
But because it is alive.
Gently take three slow breaths.
In through your nose.
Out through your mouth.
And one last one.
In through your nose.
And on this exhale,
Through the mouth,
Allow some sound if you want.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
Ahhhh.
You are still here.
And something in you is still growing.
