Find a position that feels safe for your body,
Not perfect,
Just safe.
And when you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in,
Feeling your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest.
And exhale with the soft side.
Again,
Inhale deeply and release.
One more time,
Breathing in safety,
Breathing out tension.
Let your shoulders drop,
Soften your jaw,
Let your hands rest somewhere comforting,
Maybe over your heart or on your stomach.
And quietly say to yourself,
In this moment I am safe.
Now imagine you're standing in front of a small house.
This house represents your past.
Notice what it looks like,
The color,
Windows,
The door.
There is no judgment here,
Just awareness.
Walk slowly towards the door and as you place your hand on a handle,
Notice any sensation in your body,
Nervousness,
Tightness,
Tenderness,
Whatever arises is welcome.
Inside,
You see a younger version of yourself.
Not the version you show to the world,
The real one,
The one who felt things deeply,
The one who tried to understand,
The one who needed comfort.
Take a moment and really look at them.
How old are they?
What is their facial expression?
Are they bracing,
Are they quiet,
Are they pretending they don't need anything?
Slowly kneel down so you are at their level and before you say anything,
Just let them feel your presence.
Because maybe no one truly sat with them before.
Softly say,
I see you.
I see how hard it was for you.
You didn't imagine it.
You weren't too sensitive.
You weren't too much.
Let those words land,
Notice what happens in their body.
Now gently ask them,
What did you need that you didn't receive?
Don't force the answer,
It may come as a word,
An image,
A feeling.
Maybe they needed protection,
Reassurance,
Affection,
Someone to choose them,
Someone to say,
It's not your fault.
Whatever arises,
Honor it.
Now imagine yourself giving them exactly that.
If they needed protection,
Imagine yourself standing between them and anything overwhelming,
Strong,
Steady.
If they needed affection,
Wrap them in your arms,
Hold them firmly,
Let them cry if they need to.
If they need reassurance,
Look directly into their eyes and say,
You are not responsible for what have happened.
You were just a child.
It was never your job to fix everything.
Let your voice be slow,
Certain,
Loving.
Notice if their breathing changes.
Notice if your breathing changes.
Now imagine a warm,
Golden light beginning to fill the room.
The light represents unconditional love,
The kind that doesn't depend on achievement or behavior or being good,
It fills the space around you both.
And as you hold your younger self,
Imagine this light gently dissolving.
Any belief of I'm not enough.
I have to learn love,
I have to be perfect,
I have to take care of everyone.
Let those old survival beliefs soften.
They were strategies,
They helped you survive,
But you don't need them in the same way anymore.
Whisper to your inner child,
You don't have to work so hard to be loved.
I love you now,
Exactly as you are.
If they want to say something,
Let them.
If they want to cry,
Let them.
If they want to be held longer,
Stay.
Now gently place your hand over their heart and imagine a cord of light connecting their hearts to yours.
Steady,
Unbreakable,
You're no longer separate,
You are one.
Slowly invite them to step into you.
Not disappearing,
Integrating.
Their creativity,
Their sensitivity,
Their intuition,
Their truth.
Feel them merging into your chest.
Notice the strength that comes from this wholeness.
You are not broken,
You were adapting.
And now you are healing.
Take a deep breath in and feel your spine straighten naturally.
There is power in reclaiming yourself.
There is dignity in honouring your pain.
There is softness in choosing compassion over criticism.
When you're ready,
Imagine gently leaving the house behind.
Not erasing the past,
But no longer trapped inside it.
You are the adult now.
You are the safe place now.
Begin to bring awareness back to your physical body.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Move your fingers,
Roll your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Carrying this knowing with you,
I am no longer alone inside myself.
I am my own safety.
I am my own protector.
