You learn to be strong.
And it worked.
People relied on you.
You came through.
You handled the things that needed handling.
But at some point,
The strength stopped being something you chose and became the clothing you couldn't take off.
And now there are moments where it feels less like armor and more like a self-imposed prison.
That's what we're sitting with today.
Let's come into the body first.
Feet on the floor,
Hands resting somewhere easy.
Let the weight of your body settle.
Slow breath in through the nose.
Let it drop all the way down.

For the next few minutes,
You don't have to hold anything up.
Nothing requires your strength.
Think about what it takes to maintain the version of yourself that everyone sees.
The capable one.
The one who doesn't need much,
Who handles it,
Who doesn't complain.
There's energy in holding that in place.
Constant background energy.
What does it actually feel like to carry that right now in your body?
Stay with that feeling,
Don't explain it,
Just feel it.
There might be a tiredness underneath all of it.
Not physical tired,
Something deeper than that.
Emotional armor doesn't appear from nowhere.
You built it because you needed it.
Because being vulnerable or uncertain or affected by things had consequences at some point So you toughened up.
You learned to need less.
Feel less.
Show less.
And that kept you protected.
The cost is.

It also keeps everything else out.
Connection.
Rest.
Being known by anyone.
Including yourself.
What is it that your strength has been protecting you from feeling?
Take your time with that.
And is there someone or something you've kept at a distance because letting it in felt like too much of a risk?

The strength is real.
That's not the problem.
The problem is when it becomes the only mode you have.
When it stops being something you choose and becomes the only thing you know how to be.
A man who can choose to be strong.
And also choose to put it down.
That's a different kind of strength entirely.
