Greetings and welcome to this video entitled Creating Space from Your Parts.
In this moment,
We're practicing something very simple,
Yet it's powerful.
I invite you to bring your mind to something that's been activating you.
And just notice what shows up.
It could be thoughts,
Emotions,
Sensations,
Memories,
Or something else,
Images.
And instead of saying that,
This is just me.
See if you can actually say,
A part of me is feeling,
A part of me is remembering.
A part of me is showing up in this sensation.
And just notice how that lands inside of your system.
Notice the shift.
When you utilize the phrase,
A part of me.
Notice what that does.
Inside.
Often,
It creates enough space for us to breathe.
For us to take a step back to be able to become more aware.
Where we are able to look at things a little bit differently,
Where we are getting a little bit of distance to be able to Realize it's not us.
But it's just a part of us.
That's holding.
What's present,
Less experiencing what's present.
As you're doing that,
You're not pushing the part away.
That's not the intention.
You're simply not becoming a part or being merged or enmeshed with the part.
You're allowing yourself to get a little bit of space so this way you can see the part as being separate from you.
And as you do,
I just want to invite you to notice.
Notice what happens when there's a little bit more space.
Notice what it feels like inside of your body to have a little bit more space.
Maybe things inside may feel a little bit less intense.
Little bit less overwhelming.
Maybe there's a little bit more clarity.
And this is how we begin process in IFS,
Right?
To begin to lead from something a little bit deeper.
Not from a part that's holding an emotion,
A feeling,
A thought,
A sensation,
A memory,
Or an experience,
But from something that's a little bit more spacious,
Something that's a little bit more open-hearted.
Something that is a little bit more creative or curious or courageous.
I want to invite you to just remember.
You can create space at any time.
By just acknowledging.
Part of me.
By seeing if it's okay.
If you're able to give yourself permission.
To have that space.
If you're willing to.
Entertain the idea.
That may be Everything that you're feeling and experiencing is not necessarily all of you.
But it could be just a part of you that's holding.
The anger,
The frustration,
The overwhelm.
The fear,
The worry,
The anxiety.
And it's not the totality of your beingness.
Thank you so much for being here with me as we went over creating space from your parts.
Bye-bye for now.
