Welcome,
Dear soul.
Find a comfortable position,
Lying down or seated with your spine soft and long.
If it's comfortable,
Let your eyes close.
Allow your hands to rest wherever they feel most at ease.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And sigh it out through your mouth.
Again,
In and out.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing the weight of the day,
Like leaves letting go of their branches and drifting to the forest floor.
Whisper an intention for this journey.
Perhaps rest,
Belonging,
Renewal,
Or clarity.
Trust whatever arises.
Hold it gently,
Like a warm cup cradled between your palms.
Bring awareness to the crown of your head.
Feel a soft,
Silvery warmth begin to glow there,
Starlight drifting down.
As you inhale,
The starlight descends.
As you exhale,
Your body softens.
Foreheads smooth.
Eyes heavy and kind.
Cheeks at ease.
Jaw unclenched.
Let the tongue rest like a pebble in a quiet stream.
Breathe into the throat,
A spacious,
Luminous corridor for your voice and truth.
Inhale,
Brightening.
Exhale,
Softening.
Draw attention to your shoulders.
Imagine a shawl woven from moonlight settling around you.
On the breath out,
The shawl unwinds what you no longer need.
Move down through your chest and back.
Ribs like gentle wings,
Widening and folding.
Breathe into the heart,
A glowing ember of warmth.
With each inhale,
The ember kindles.
With each exhale,
Its warmth spreads across your chest.
Belly soft,
Give it permission to move.
Hips heavy and grounded,
Like stone warmed by sun.
Thighs,
Knees,
Calves,
Ankles and feet.
Each part receives the same gentle starlight,
The same unhurried breath.
Now,
Breathe in for a count of four.
Hold for two.
Out for six.
Repeat for three more rounds,
Letting the longer exhale be a small spell of calm.
In your mind's eye,
A woodland path unfurls.
Dew-kissed moss.
Ferns nodding with old stories.
A blackbird sings.
With each step,
The world grows softer,
As if the forest itself is welcoming you home.
Ahead,
A cosy witch cottage appears.
Slate roof.
Ivy climbing the stone.
Windows glowing amber with hearthlight.
A hand-carved sign above the door reads,
Welcome,
Traveller of wonder.
The door knows you.
It opens with a friendly sigh.
Cross the threshold.
As you do,
Feel a delicate shimmer pass through you.
An old magic of safety,
Consent and belonging.
Here,
You are seen and cherished exactly as you are.
Inside,
The scent of cinnamon,
Dried orange peel and a hint of wood smoke.
The hearth crackles gently.
You notice a kettle steaming.
A small cauldron nestled at the fireside.
And a shelf of jars labelled with looping script.
On the mantle,
A little brass bell.
If you like,
Imagine ringing it.
Once,
Softly.
Its tone clears the air like a sunbeam through mist.
Place your hands,
Real or imagined,
Near the hearth fire.
Feel its radiant warmth.
Whisper to yourself,
I am safe here.
I am welcomed here.
I am whole here.
You find a comfortable chair with a woven blanket,
Soft as moonlit moss.
As you settle,
The cottage seems to breathe with you.
Inhale,
The room brightens.
Exhale,
The room settles.
A simple comfort spell stirs within you.
On the in-breath,
Warmth finds me.
On the out-breath,
Ease surrounds me.
Repeat softly for several breaths,
Letting the rhythm weave through your body.
On a small wooden table waits a tray.
A teapot painted with night sky constellations.
A cup smooth and sturdy.
A jar of honey.
And a sprig of fresh mint.
Pour the tea.
Hear the gentle splash,
The small cloud of fragrant steam.
Wrap your hands around the cup.
Invite the warmth to travel through your palms,
Up your arms,
Into your chest.
Before sipping,
Offer a quiet blessing.
With this tea,
I return to the present.
With this warmth,
I return to myself.
Take an imaginary sip.
Taste notes of chamomile and vanilla.
Maybe a whisper of apple and clove.
As the tea settles in your belly,
It becomes a calm lake reflecting moonlight.
Each breath ripples that lake,
And then the surface grows still again.
A gentle patter of paws or soft wings approaches.
A loyal familiar,
However it appears for you today.
Perhaps a cat with galaxy bright eyes.
An owl with wise silence.
A fox with velvet steps.
Or a tiny dragon shimmering like a soap bubble.
Your familiar greets you with uncomplicated love.
You exchange a knowing look.
No words are needed.
Together,
You turn toward the window.
Outside,
The cottage garden glows.
A tapestry of herbs and flowers nodding in the breeze.
Sunlight,
Or perhaps a tender drizzle,
Blesses every leaf.
Feel the companionship beside you.
Let yourself belong.
To this friend.
To this place.
To this moment.
Rise and wander to the herb shelves.
Run your fingertips over the glass jars.
Each one hums a note you can almost hear.
Choose three ingredients for a simple charm,
Guided by your intention from the beginning.
For rest,
Lavender,
Oat straw and chamomile.
For clarity,
Rosemary,
Peppermint and lemon balm.
For strength,
Nettle,
Cinnamon and ginger.
For love and kindness,
Rose,
Cacao nibs and vanilla bean.
For protection,
Bay leaf,
Star anise and black peppercorn.
Trust your inner knowing.
Place your chosen herbs in a small bowl.
Their scents swirl together like friendly constellations.
At the hearth,
The small cauldron warms.
The flame is the colour of late afternoon sunlight.
When you're ready,
Sprinkle a pinch of your herbs into the cauldron.
Hear the faint hiss of steam,
The soft sigh of releasing.
Speak or think this incantation in your own steady rhythm.
I gather what serves.
I release what doesn't.
I walk in balance with earth,
Air,
Fire and water.
Imagine the steam carrying your intention upward,
Where it unfurls into a filament of light.
That light threads itself into the cottage beams,
The roof,
The sky and the quiet web of life around you.
Place your hands over your heart.
Feel its response,
The gentle yes of your body.
The back door opens onto a stone path.
Step out into the garden.
The air is bright with green and the soil smells like rain and stories.
You pass beds of thyme and sage,
Calendula and marigold,
Foxglove watching like kind guardians.
A willow tree near the pond lifts its branches in blessing.
Somewhere,
Wind chimes sing,
A simple harmony like laughter under breath.
Find a small wooden gate at the edge of the garden.
Touch its smooth latch.
Feel the quiet threshold magic there,
Promises of safe passage,
Of returning.
Breathe with the garden a few rounds,
In and out,
Letting this living world be your teacher of patience and renewal.
Return inside.
A snug hallway leads to a small library,
Where shelves curve around a reading nook piled with cushions.
Candles burn low,
Wicks whispering.
A window lets in soft light.
One book glows gently on the shelf.
It chooses you.
Its cover bears a symbol meaningful to your heart.
Perhaps a moon,
A key,
A branch,
A star,
Or a spiral.
You open to a page that reads like it was written just now,
Just for you.
The words offer precisely the encouragement you've been seeking.
Take a moment to receive.
Close the book and hold it to your chest.
Feel knowledge and kindness settle into your bones.
Back at the hearth,
A small candle waits.
Its wax the colour of your intention.
Calm blue.
Bright yellow.
Grounding brown.
Tender blush.
Protective deep green.
Or clear beeswax gold.
Light the candle in your mind's eye.
Imagine a thread of light connecting the candle to your heart,
Then to your herb charm,
And finally to the front door,
So that when you leave,
The blessing travels with you.
Repeat softly,
I am held.
I am guided.
I am free to begin again.
Let the candle burn safely in the imaginal space.
Its flame knows when to go out.
The cottage thanks you.
The way a friend thanks a friend.
Your familiar rubs against your leg or brushes your shoulder with a wing.
Promise to return any time.
This place now lives in your breath and memory.
Step back through the doorway.
The forest path welcomes you for the journey home.
With each step,
Your awareness returns to the room you're in now.
Tap thumb to each finger,
One by one.
Wiggle toes.
Deepen your breath.
When you're ready,
Inhale to fill your lungs.
Exhale with a soft smile.
Open your eyes.
Notice a few colours in the room.
A sound nearby.
The sensation of the chair or bed beneath you.
Carry the cottage with you.
The warmth.
The wisdom.
The belonging.
Your day continues,
Gently spell-touched,
Softly bright.
Blessed be and welcome home.

So glad I found this meditation. It is perfect for bedtime. I listened to most of it and at some point drifted off into a deep and peaceful sleep. Woke up feeling fabulous.
