Hello and welcome to another moment of meditation.
So if you've not done one of these before,
These little moments of meditation are usually between 5 and 8 minutes long,
Maybe even a little bit shorter.
And they're just a few moments out of our day,
Maybe the start of the day,
Where we can let the words,
Let the inspiration of a beautiful reading wash over us and wash through us.
And we can use the reading as a source of meditation.
We can contemplate what it says,
We can think about what that means for us.
And I personally find this is a really simple and beautiful way to meditate.
So today I'm going to be reading something called Release the Need to Save People by Sanaya Roman.
So just taking a moment just to settle,
Maybe listening to this whilst you're doing something.
Maybe you've chosen to just take a few moments out of your day,
Maybe you can find some stillness.
So however you're going to receive this beautiful reading,
We're just going to start by bringing some awareness to the breath.
So just notice,
Maybe you could notice your chest rising and falling.
Or maybe your breath is going all the way down into your stomach,
Maybe you can feel your stomach rising and falling.
And if it feels nice,
Maybe you might just try and slow the breathing down just a little bit.
So maybe just breathe a little deeper,
A little longer,
A little slower.
And then just really gently releasing the breath out of the mouth or the nose,
Whichever feels right for you today.
Whatever feels right for you in this moment.
So I invite you just to keep a gentle focus on the breath.
And then let these words wash over you,
Let them wash through you.
Take what you need and leave the rest.
You can dissolve obstacles to love by releasing the need to save people from their problems.
You can love others as your soul does by allowing them to be responsible for their own lives.
Taking care of others,
Worrying about their lives and solving their problems can occupy so much of your attention and emotions that you have no energy left to put into your own life and spiritual path.
When you stop trying to save others,
You can release any resentment you might feel for all the time and energy you've spent on them.
When you save others,
You can become a victim when they do not use your help in the way you would like.
And when they continue to create similar problems or when they expect and demand that you continue to save them.
So learn to recognize when you are helping others because you feel that they do not have the strength or ability to solve their own problems.
When you feel an urge to help people in a way that will save them or take away their lessons,
Simply stop.
And you may find that your desire to help others really comes from your own need to feel better and to have less concern and worry about their problems.
So why not today assume that people have the ability to solve their own problems even if you can't see how they will.
While your soul is interested in assisting people,
It does not interfere with their lives.
It allows people to have their own ideas,
To live in whatever way they choose,
To learn from their mistakes and to achieve their own success.
So release the need to save people.
So just taking a few moments here just to be with the words,
The ideas,
The information of the reading.
And bringing some awareness to the fact that there's a difference between being helpful for someone or trying to help someone and trying to save and rescue them.
So maybe you could take a moment to think about how you could fit yourself to be of maximum helpfulness today.
Whilst not trying to save people in the process.
How could you move into your day being helpful?
And remember that people have the ability to save themselves.
So taking a moment just to bring all of your focus back to your breath.
I invite you to take a really deep inhale.
This time a nice sigh out of the mouth.
And I wish you a beautiful rest of the day.
Until next time,
Goodbye.
