Thanks for listening to a Simon Ayers track.
Today's short track was inspired by a beautiful walk I just took with my dogs.
It's a track we've walked maybe one or two thousand times,
But for some reason tonight it was just particularly beautiful.
The warm air surrounded my body like a warm hug.
Everything stood still.
It even felt like time stood still for a moment.
The sunset reflected beautifully on the small lake and the trees gave off the most wonderful scent.
And as I passed them by I thanked them for sharing their wonderful oxygen with me.
Everything was beautiful.
So what I'd like to encourage you to do today is settle into a chair or lie down if you feel like it,
And imagine something really beautiful,
Whether it's something like the scene that I just described or something else,
A tropical paradise perhaps,
Or a beautiful rose garden,
A person you love,
A pet,
Anything that you find particularly beautiful,
Bring it to mind,
And as you do that just become aware of your breath,
Following the path of the air as it makes its way in through your nostrils,
Passing down through your throat into your body,
Expanding your torso and allowing your torso to fall away as it makes its way back out.
And each time you breathe in bring that beautiful scene to mind and repeat that for at least five times,
Enjoying the beauty of your vision on the inhale and the glorious release on the exhale.
And then with that vision in mind,
Look inwards and look for the sensations within your body that that vision creates.
What feelings does it bring up?
What sensations from within?
How does it make your heart feel?
How are you breathing right now?
What else is happening?
As a result of that beautiful image,
Tune into those sensations.
And now imagine there's a big dial on your forehead that's set to zero and dial those sensations all the way up to ten,
Enjoying the amazing feelings that come with that beautiful vision that you've created.
And just sit with those feelings of beauty.
And one last time as you inhale,
Just recall that wonderful image and on the exhale,
Release everything,
Relax your body and just become aware now of the sensations of your body against the surface that you're sitting or lying on,
Observing all of those contact points.
Now becoming aware of the volume of your body,
In your mind's eye,
Imagine the space that you're actually in right now,
The floor or ground beneath you,
The walls or objects around you,
The ceiling or sky or canopy above you.
And when you're ready,
If your eyes were closed,
Open them.
And if they were relaxed,
Just focus them onto the space around you and reorient yourself to the space you're in.
And hopefully you can take those beautiful feelings with you for the rest of your day.
Thanks for listening,
Bye.
