Begin by allowing your body to stop trying.

There is nothing you need to adjust,

Nothing you need to improve.

Let your eyes close gently,

Or let your gaze soften,

Unfocused and relaxed.

Feel the weight of your body being held by the bed,

By the floor,

By gravity itself.

You do not need to hold yourself together right now.

You are allowed to be supported.

Bring your attention to your breath,

Not to change it,

Just to notice the slow,

Natural rhythm already there.

Now take a gentle inhale through the nose,

Unhurried,

Easy.

And slowly exhale through the mouth,

Longer than the inhale,

Like a soft release.

Again,

Breathing in and breathing out.

With every exhale,

Imagine your body becoming heavier,

Not tense,

Just more settled.

As if you are gently sinking into rest.

Notice the space around your forehead,

Let it smooth.

Let the tiny muscles behind the eyes relax,

Soften the jaw.

Allow the tongue to rest,

Let the throat feel open and easy.

Your shoulders can drop now,

There is nothing they need to carry.

Imagine your mind as a wide,

Open sky at dusk.

Thoughts may still appear like clouds passing through,

But you do not need to follow them.

They drift on their own,

And the sky remains.

With each breath out,

Feel yourself drifting too.

Not falling,

Not forcing sleep,
