Dr. Amanda Whitehouse is a licensed school and counseling psychologist specializing in the intersection of food allergies and medical trauma and anxiety. She is a Mom to three boys, one of whom has multiple food allergies. She helps her clients with navigating the psychological impact of life-threatening food allergies, helping them build resilience, reduce anxiety, and restore confidence in daily life. She is the creator and host of the Don't Feed the Fear podcast, where she interviews experts, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to raise awareness, as well as providing her own perspective on the support needed by the food allergy community. Dr. Whitehouse combines her clinical expertise with a deep understanding of somatic work, polyvagal theory, and trauma-informed care into her unique approach to addressing the mental health needs of children, parents, and adults affected by food allergies. Her work centers on empowering families with science-backed strategies, compassionate care, and practical tools for thriving safely and emotionally. She also enjoys speaking to and educating groups, and consulting with schools, health care providers, and advocacy organizations to promote best practices in food allergy care and communication.
