Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is Andrew Johnson.
In today's meditation we'll be focusing on emotional freedom.
Wishing you a restorative practice.
So whether you're sitting or lying down,
Make yourself comfortable.
Take a nice gentle deep breath and out and allow your eyes to close and as your eyes start to relax you start to drift deeper within.
It's only when I mention it that you notice the flow of your breathing in and out in and down and up and out and as you rest your awareness on your breathing you're drifting deeper.
Each out breath taking you a little deeper,
A little more comfortable too.
With the breathing comes physical heaviness.
It's nice to welcome it,
To accept it,
To encourage it as you drift deeper and deeper within.
As human beings wanting to move on towards success,
Whatever the word success means to you,
We know that we have emotional links that can often hold us back.
Habits from the past stopping us moving on.
Negative thoughts from the past that stop us moving on.
Negative behaviors from the past that stop us moving on.
Here and now.
In this moment you're starting to recognize all the little strands connected to the past that are stopping you moving on.
In your mind you turn and look behind you.
You see these strands,
You feel those strands,
Those connections,
Those unwanted unnecessary connections going back to the past.
They're anchored there in the past behind you.
As you try to move forward now they feel as if they're holding you back and so it's time to start moving on with those connections behind you trying to hold you back.
You take one step forward.
Good.
The connections are being stretched just a little.
One more step.
Come on,
One more step.
Make the effort to moving forward.
You can feel the connections lengthening,
Becoming thinner,
Becoming weaker but still holding you back.
Taking a deep breath now.
One more step.
Use all your energy.
One more step and suddenly one of the connection breaks.
You get a tremendous feeling of confidence and positivity.
One more step.
It seems a little easier now.
Come on,
Just one more step.
They're weakening,
Lengthening and there goes another.
You feel a little release as the connection breaks.
You can take a bigger step this time.
One more step.
Stretching and another two connections break.
You feel a bigger release this time.
A sense of power and achievement.
One more step and it seems easier.
A bigger step this time.
As you step forward the remaining connections are stretching,
Thinning out,
Becoming weaker and weaker and you test now.
One step.
Two step.
The connections getting weaker.
Picking up the pace.
Three steps.
Four steps.
Five.
You're moving faster now.
Faster and faster.
You're breaking into a jog now.
It feels amazing.
The power and energy coursing through your body.
The adrenaline is flowing now as you move forward.
Faster and faster.
One by one the old connections are breaking.
You're running easily,
Effortlessly.
The connections are breaking one by one.
Snapping,
Breaking,
Loosening,
Changing,
Releasing.
There's only a few left now and you're really picking up the pace and you can see just in the distance a finish line.
You know that as you pass through this finishing line every connection will be broken and you start to count down before the finish line.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Freedom.
Two.
Freedom.
One.
And every connection breaks all at once.
All the remaining connections break as you yourself break through the finishing line and you stand there with a wonderful feeling of freedom,
Of confidence,
Of positivity,
Of achievement.
You look back into the distance,
Into the past and you realise those habits,
Those thoughts,
Those behaviours are now in the past.
Your mind is calm and clear.
I'm going to count up slowly and gently from one to ten.
At five wiggle your fingers and toes and at eight gently open your eyes and at ten have a gentle stretch.
One.
Two.
Three.
Coming back up.
Four.
Five.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Coming back up.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Open your eyes.
Nine.
Ten.
A gentle stretch,
An awaking breath and bringing back a sense of freedom.
Be gentle with yourself and enjoy the rest of the day.
