Good morning,

Welcome to this Jamaica ocean breathing practice.

I'm sitting on the beach,

The sun is just rising over the mountains.

You can hear the ocean,

The birds,

The sounds of Jamaica.

I'm at my home away from home,

The Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios.

Jamaica is more than a place,

It's a feeling.

It's a feeling of peace that I get nowhere else in the world.

So this morning let's try to cultivate the feeling of Jamaica.

A feeling of being peaceful,

Grounded,

Welcoming all emotions,

Letting everything be as it is.

So finding your comfortable seat.

If you're in a chair,

Feet flat.

If you're sitting cross-legged,

Tall spine,

Allowing the crown of the head to move toward the sky like there's an imaginary string.

Dropping shoulders,

Maybe eyes closed.

First just tune into your breath this morning.

Relaxing teeth and jaw.

And all we are going to do is simply observe our breath.

Placing your attention on the breath coming in through the nose.

Following each breath.

Nothing to do but breathe.

Try not to let one breath go by that you are not noticing.

Feeling the rise and fall of your breath just like an ocean wave.

And I'll go silent for a while as you feel the rise and fall of your breath.

Check the quality of your mind.

Notice if you were thinking and without judgment gently bring the mind back.

The mind is like the ocean.

The thoughts are your waves.

Each wave comes.

It's like a thought coming.

They keep coming.

We're not trying to stop thoughts.

We're just observing the breath.

Noticing when we get lost in thought and then coming back.

Keep coming back to your breath,

To your body.

There's no wrong.

And coming back to your breath.

Feel the breath coming in through your nose.

Feeling each breath enliven you.

Notice how you feel from the short practice listening to the sounds of Jamaica.

I hope you got the feeling of Jamaica.

The feeling of peace and calm.

Groundedness as you walk through your day.

Remember you can come back at any time to your breath.

So much gratitude for you listening.

I hope you have an awesome day.

My heart is with the people of Jamaica today. Thank you for this practice created there. May they, and you, have peace through the process of restoration.
