Hello and welcome to today's meditation,
Connecting with the Sounds of Nature.
In order for us to do so,
We need to be outdoors in the elements of nature.
And so I want you to pause this audio,
And if you're not already there,
Relocate yourself somewhere outdoors that is suitable for you.
Perhaps that is on a porch or a step.
Perhaps it's under a tree or a piece of grass.
Or perhaps you're not able to move outdoors,
And if that's the case,
I hope that you can sit by a window and allow yourself to hear and enjoy the natural sounds around you.
So let's do that now.
Pause here and resume the audio once you are in your place for meditation in the outdoors.
Okay,
So now that we're here in the outdoors,
I invite you to sit comfortably in a way that allows you to relax into the setting in which you're in.
Next,
Gently close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in and out.
Let's inhale again,
Filling the lungs with this beautiful air around us.
And slowly exhaling,
Allowing the body and the mind to begin to relax into the meditation.
With our eyes closed,
Our ears,
Along with other senses,
Become a little bit more alive.
Just take a moment now to enjoy the senses in this place of nature.
Allow your body to feel the connectedness to the earth below.
Perhaps you're even able to feel the grass in your fingertips.
Is it a bit sticky or tactile or is it smooth?
Feel the sensations that are supporting your body in this moment,
The earth below.
Perhaps you're sitting against a tree.
Perhaps you're sitting on a porch step or a rocking chair.
And now let's allow the sounds of nature to enter in to our experience.
With our eyes closed and our body breathing gently,
What do you hear around you?
What sounds are entering your environment?
I'm going to pause here for a moment or two and allow the sounds of nature around you to fill your experience.
They root us and ground us in the present moment.
And as we welcome the sounds of nature around us,
We're breathing gently,
Nourishing our body,
Breathing in and breathing out,
Breathing in and out,
Feeling centered and grounded with the earth supporting our bodies,
Feeling centered and connected to the notions of life all around us.
And as you're ready,
I welcome you to begin to slowly open your eyes and appreciate the beauty around you.
Perhaps you're enjoying the sight of a tree nearby with its countless shades of green,
Leaves abundance and browns bark surrounding and encompassing the tree,
Keeping it sturdy and safe.
Perhaps there's more color to be found in flowers or wildlife.
Allow yourself to take a moment and integrate the sounds of nature along with the visuals that you can see,
Activating all of your senses,
Allowing them to come to life,
Integrating with one another in this present moment,
Reminding us that we are grounded and rooted not only in our environment,
But in the moment that we're in and no other.
I welcome you to come and revisit this practice whenever it serves you,
Connecting in the outdoors,
No matter a little rain or sunshiny day is good for our soul and good for our being.
I appreciate you taking this time to join with me in our connecting with the sounds of nature meditation.
My name is Carol DeFalco and I appreciate the time that we spent together.
Until next time,
Namaste.
