Welcome to this gentle space,
A place where you can rest,
Soften,
And simply be whatever you are carrying today.
Grieving love,
Whether through separation,
Unmet needs,
Or unspoken endings,
Is not something to fix or rush,
It's something to tend to,
Softly and kindly,
Moment by moment.
Right now,
Just giving yourself permission to feel just as you feel,
There is no wrong way to grieve,
There is no timeline to follow,
Only this breath,
Only this moment,
You are meant to experience all of your feelings,
Let them breathe.
Find a comfortable posture now,
You might be lying down,
Sitting on a cushion,
Or resting in a chair,
Let your body be supported,
Held by the ground beneath you.
If it feels okay,
Just gently close down your eyes,
Or lower your gaze,
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Let your jaw relax,
Let your hands rest naturally.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in,
Feel the air enter your body,
And exhale softly,
Letting your body release a little of what it's been holding.
Again,
Breathing in,
And breathing out,
No need to change or control your breath,
Just noticing it.
As you breathe,
You may begin to notice your body settling,
A quiet awareness starts to grow.
Softly say to yourself,
I rest inside this body,
Allowing space for all that I carry.
I meet myself here,
With gentleness and grace.
Place a hand here on your heart,
And whisper inwardly,
I see you,
I hear you,
I love you.
Sometimes when we come home to the body after heartbreak,
We find things waiting for us there,
Maybe it's a quiet ache,
A little pocket of tenderness tucked beneath the surface.
It's natural to feel this when we slow down,
Especially after living so much in the mind,
In the stories,
In the hopes,
In the what ifs.
If sadness rises,
A tightness in the chest,
Or tears behind the eyes,
Know this is okay.
To feel deeply is your gift,
It is your guide.
We feel because we love,
We love because we feel.
Coming home to the body is an act of love,
Of what was,
And for yourself,
Right now.
Now gently say to yourself,
Breathing in,
I'm aware of my in-breath.
Breathing out,
I'm aware of my out-breath.
There's no need to force anything,
Just be here.
Each breath is a quiet act of care.
Imagine now that you're wrapped in something warm and comforting,
Like a soft blanket,
Or a gentle golden light.
This warmth surrounds your heart,
Cradling the tender places that feel raw or exposed.
It doesn't erase the ache,
But it helps you hold it with compassion.
Letting a soft light be brought into the dark belly of you.
Feel a nerve reaching towards the heart.
Let these words echo gently in your mind.
It's okay to feel what I'm feeling.
My heart is healing,
One breath at a time.
I honour the love I gave,
And I choose to honour myself now.
I am allowed to rest,
I am allowed to release.
Just saying gently to yourself,
I will not abandon you,
My sweetheart.
I will meet you daily with tenderness.
Take one more slow,
Nourishing breath in,
And softly breathe out.
As you move forward from this practice,
Remember there's no rush in healing.
Love doesn't disappear overnight,
But neither does your strength.
You are like soft earth that spreads new life.
You are warm to the touch,
And so capable of love.
When you're ready,
Bring a soft awareness back to the room,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes,
And just gently opening up your eyes.
You can return to this practice whenever your heart needs holding.
You are not broken,
You are becoming.
Rest well,
Be kind to yourself.
