This quick midday reset clears the mental residue of the morning,
Settles the nervous system and sends you back into your day feeling genuinely refreshed.
Everything else can wait just for a few minutes as you close your eyes or gaze down towards your heart center and take a really long deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly and smoothly.
That one breath just made the changes that you need.
Two more times,
Take the deep breath in through your nose,
Let the sigh out,
Be noisy or quiet.
And again,
One more time,
Breathing deeply,
Deeply into your lung capacity,
And then letting the breath go.
Feel where you are right now,
Where you're sitting,
Where you're standing.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
If your feet are on the floor,
Feel the support beneath you.
You have been going since this morning,
Thinking,
Deciding,
Responding and managing.
Your nervous system has been switched on and probably more than you even realized.
So now,
Just for now,
It gets to be switched off.
Scan through the body at the top of the head moving down.
A quick sweep of awareness,
Noticing tension and breathe into it and let it soften as you exhale.
The head and the face,
The neck and the shoulders,
Your chest,
Your belly.
Just unclench your hands and fingers and soften your toes.
Without any judgment at all,
Just notice where you are right now,
Not physically.
Are you tired?
Overwhelmed?
Are you a bit scattered today or frustrated?
Or maybe you are just full,
Full of the morning and needing a moment of empty.
Whatever it is,
Give it a name,
Just to acknowledge it,
Not to fix it.
Say out loud or internally,
I am feeling.
And then take one breath for it,
One breath that says,
I see you.
It's okay now,
We're taking a moment.
Now think of one thing,
Just one,
That you are looking forward to.
Something small,
Something later today,
A cup of tea,
A walk,
A conversation,
A moment alone,
Or being at home.
Let that be a small light in the rest of your day,
A guiding light,
An energy of hope or positivity.
Taking another long breath in through your nose and a slow,
Long,
Full breath out.
Right,
You are ready and a little emptier for the rest of your day.
So back you go,
But a bit different,
A bit clearer,
A bit lighter.
And slightly more yourself than you were just a few moments ago and that is enough and that is everything have a beautiful day beautiful soul.
