**Note: Truth does not always sound pleasant. If the mind is not really peaceful now, it might not be a perfect moment to listen to this podcast, one has to be aware of the emotions or reactions that can block one from listenING ATTENTIVELY and with HUMILITY. This talk is a meditation practice. What one needs to do is listen attentively, without getting stuck in words, examine the mind in silence, not agree or disagree, just look at the mind as it is. Doing so is already part of true meditation.

When we have this preference or dislike,

The preference is based on the pleasure,

The dislike is based on the opposite.

We can't really observe thoughts objectively.

Without this objective observation,

The relationship between thoughts and the mind is very complicated,

Which is also manifested in our human relationships,

Which are very complicated.

Because for most people,

They don't really observe the relationship objectively.

But if we can't observe the thoughts and the relation between thoughts and us objectively,

The mind is inevitably confused.

There's no clarity unless there is a real objective observation,

Which is challenging for many,

Many people.

Because people don't want to give up the preference or the dislike.

They always choose to stand on one side,

But not in the middle.

So to meditate is to stand in the middle,

To watch.

Belonging to new sides,

Just watch,

Observe,

Learn objectively.

On the one hand,

People are into the pleasure,

All kinds of illusions,

Fantasies there.

On the other,

People are into the negative thoughts,

More and more into it,

Wanting to get rid of it,

But still into it.

You see,

Almost nobody comes to the middle.

Can one really accept fully at this moment?

Neither pursuing the pleasure or avoiding the pain,

Just stay with them,

Hold and observe.

This requires a mind of different quality,

And also very doing so,

Bring a different quality of the mind.

It is a matter of doing,

Not thinking,

Talking,

But doing.

Do it and see what would happen.

One can't imagine it.

One can't imagine when it's in the middle.

One can only know what would happen when one is in the middle.

And this whole process of observing non-judgmentally,

Objectively,

Without any justification or condemnation,

Is the starting point of meditation.
