
You Are Complete - Realizing Our Innate Wholeness
Realize your sovereign nature by coming to understand that peace, joy, and love live within every one of us. Inspired by vedic teachings. Welcome to this guided practice where together we'll strive towards the realization of our innate wholeness,
The perfection of our being,
And work towards embodying these truths throughout our day to day lives.
Often we undervalue ourselves,
Coming to believe that we need validation from others or accomplishments in the material world to confirm our worthiness,
Believing that somehow,
Without these things,
We are not complete.
With this practice,
We will step towards realizing that all we need,
All we have been seeking from the exterior world,
Is available within us at any time,
If we only enable ourselves to open to it.
And so,
Let us come to find comfortable positions where we can establish the natural alignment of our spines,
Where we can relax yet remain resilient.
Allow yourself to find a sturdy position where your spine is extended upward with your head balanced atop and your chest wide open,
Your heart lifted.
At the same time,
We want to ensure that we aren't rigidly holding this posture.
We want the flow of our breath to move through the whole of our bodies naturally.
By holding tension in the body,
We create that same holding in the mind.
And our goal as we meditate is to let all things flow,
To let our thoughts and feelings arise without resistance and see them drift right past us as if they were leaves upon a river.
So make sure to establish that same fluidity in your posture as the body always influences the mind.
If you haven't already,
Please close your eyes.
Bring your attention onto the top of your head.
Feel the muscles at the top and down the back of your skull.
Consciously relax all tightness and notice any change to the energy within.
Shift your focus onto the muscles in your face and relax them all.
Allow your jaw to hang slightly open and your tongue to rest at the bottom of your mouth.
Feel any change to the flow of energy.
Moving downward,
Place your attention onto your neck and shoulders.
Feel the muscles relax and release as you breathe into them.
And witness any change to the energy which resides there.
Allow your arms and hands to relax,
Releasing any holding and again noticing any change to their energy.
And now to your chest and upper back.
Consciously relax at all and witness any energetic difference.
Allow your attention to float downward into your abdomen,
Belly,
And lower back.
Release and relax all that you find.
Do you feel any energetic difference?
Sinking further still,
Focus onto your hips and thighs.
Breathe into the space as you release any tightness and watch how its energy changes.
Now shift your attention to your knees,
Ankles,
And feet.
Relax at all.
Let the energy flow freely.
Finally,
Bring your attention onto the whole of your body.
From the tips of your toes and your sit bones grounded firmly below to the crown of your head into the pads of your fingertips.
Release it all.
Let everything go.
Allow yourself to truly relax.
This is a safe place and decide to take this time for yourself.
Take this time to relax.
Wonderful.
Let's now bring our focus onto our breath.
On your next inhalation,
Take a deep,
Full breath in.
Feel yourself all the way up and hold.
Squeeze in your stomach,
Squeeze in your chest and the muscles in your back.
Feel the energy rushing up your spine and release with a sigh.
We'll take one more deep breath like this.
So breathe all the way up,
Filling every last bit and hold.
Squeeze it all in and release.
Perfect.
Now,
Let your breathing come back into a natural,
Steady rhythm.
Allow your breath to be light,
Yet make no effort to control it.
Simply witness its flow.
The Ashtavakra Gita,
A classical Hindu scripture,
Shares with us these words of wisdom.
If you wish to be free,
Know you are the Self,
The witness of everything,
The heart of awareness.
Set your body aside,
Sit inside your own awareness,
You will at once be happy,
Forever still,
Forever free.
Right or wrong,
Joy or sorrow,
These are only of the mind,
They are not yours.
In the spirit of these words,
And in line with the intent of our meditation today,
To realize our innate wholeness,
Let us meditate together for a few short minutes,
Witnessing what arises within us.
Let us choose to embody a state of allowance and trust.
Allowing what is within our minds to float past us without resistance,
Whether it be dark or light,
Good or bad.
Entrusting that by doing so,
We are clearing out any thoughts or feelings we've been holding onto,
Enabling ourselves to step back and find the witness within,
The pure observer who is free from attachment to it all.
So gently bring your focus onto your breath and allow anything that comes up to pass you,
Like leaves floating down a river.
Having now stepped back to witness our thoughts and feelings without attachment,
Let us fully step in to our emerging sovereignty.
Let us embolden our freedom from the limited self and empower the awakening of our ultimate self.
Create a point of focused awareness in the center of your head,
Just below the crown.
If it's easier,
You can imagine this point on the center of your forehead.
Visualize this point as radiant and swirling with positive energy.
See it filled with light,
Warm and comfortable.
Imagine what this vortex of positive energy looks like.
Notice what it feels like.
Connect with its positivity.
Feel yourself relaxing and being graced by its positive vibrations.
Now,
While retaining awareness on this point,
We will begin to use an affirmation with the intent of embodying it on a fundamental level of our being.
I am peace,
I am love,
I am complete,
Always.
And so for the next few minutes,
As we meditate together,
Focusing on the swirling energy seated at our third eye,
I am peace,
I am love,
I am complete,
Always.
I am peace,
I am love,
Always.
Notice,
As we continue with this affirmation and our focus on the energy at our third eye,
That these words which began as a thought are transforming into a feeling.
Allow that feeling to expand by bringing your conscious awareness to it as we continue with the affirmation.
I am peace,
I am love,
I am complete,
Always.
I am peace,
I am love,
Always.
Now,
Release this affirmation and visualization.
Bring your focus back onto the natural rhythms of your breath and feel these words we've meditated upon,
Sinking in,
Embedding themselves deeply within your being.
Having worked to clear our minds and step back into embodiment of the inner observer,
Having used an empowering affirmation to more fully realize this ultimate self,
Let us now connect with each other,
Not only those meditating with us right now,
But all those around the planet who are walking this same path.
Using the power of this subtle connection we have to each other,
We can realize that every one of us is a part of this greater self,
That we're all unique expressions of the same great truth.
We can realize our ultimate oneness while still appreciating that each of our experiences and perspectives are different.
So now,
See that same point of swirling,
Light-filled,
Positive energy,
But now centered on your heart.
Feel its warmth,
Feel its comfort.
Realize that through our hearts,
We have the power to connect with this greater truth at any time,
And that through this connection,
We can spread the truth we've uncovered together.
We can shine that truth of our innate wholeness,
The love that lives inside of us,
Out to all people,
To all beings,
Realizing that individually and collectively,
We are enough.
We are whole.
We are complete.
And so feel this light at your heart expanding.
Feel it stretching and growing.
See it blooming in intensity,
Brighter and brighter,
Larger and larger,
Faster and faster.
See it growing to encompass your home,
Your neighborhood,
Your city.
See it connecting with the light of other awakened individuals around you,
And see that our powers combined are exponential.
See this light connecting with the light of our worldwide community,
And see it grow to encompass the entire planet.
Together,
Let us hold this field now surrounding Mother Earth,
And let us shine this light to all.
Let us empower each individual to step towards realizing the truths we've uncovered together,
To help everyone and everything realize that our love,
Our joy,
And our wholeness lives within us.
