Hello,
This is a freeform embodied exploration.
I will offer for you suggestions to explore and it is up to your curiosity and sense of playfulness to go deeper wherever you feel like.
There is no right or wrong here,
Just explorations and having fun.
For this exploration you will need a pen and a small size paper.
Let's start with coming into quiet in this present moment.
Putting our things,
Our daily life aside for the next few moments.
Using the breath moving through you with no extra effort or unnecessary tension.
Allow it to move you,
Move you into the present with a sense of responsiveness so you can respond to any requests from the breath.
If it wants you to move,
Change your position.
Allow yourself to be moved by what's needed right now,
Maybe a different position,
A different posture.
How is the breath now?
Does it ask you of anything?
Maybe a different chair?
Maybe lying down?
Maybe just a slight move of the hand?
What is comfortable?
And how is your connection and contact with the floor underneath?
Do you have a sense of gravity,
Weight anywhere in the body?
Sitting bones,
Legs?
Does it influence your breath somehow?
Is there more quiet in you?
And you can hold the paper in hand.
Just acknowledge that it's there,
That you're holding it.
Does it have a weight too?
Taking the pen up in your hand,
Does your pen have a color?
Does it have a weight?
Can you sense the weight of your pen?
And now start by drawing some lines on your paper.
Nothing special,
Just whatever comes up,
What shapes or lines,
Whatever comes up for you,
Just let it land on the paper.
Find the freedom of not trying to do or achieving anything.
Just a paper and a pen meeting together.
Where does the pen wants to go?
Without you controlling it.
Without the extra effort of drawing something beautiful or interesting.
Let the pen do the work.
Is there any request from the paper itself to put a line somewhere or draw anything?
This interaction and contact between you,
The paper and the pen.
We're gonna try something new now.
Make a new piece of paper now and we're gonna do a self-portrait with our eyes closed.
And closing your eyes,
One hand is on the pen and the other one is going to explore your face.
And we're gonna draw with our eyes closed only from the sense of touch.
Starting with the nose maybe.
The eyes.
Don't open them.
Just let the pen move and your fingers to sense the textures,
The curves,
The edges of your face.
The lips.
Let your heart do the translation between the touch and the hand drawing.
And when you feel that you finished,
When you feel your drawing is done,
You can open your eyes and have a look at your face at this moment,
Your portrait in this moment.
What did you discover?
Something new about yourself.
And you can try this again and see if there are any other faces that you can find only by touch.
Eyes closed.
You,
The paper and the pen.
