Hi there!
My name is Femke Bakker.
I am a meditation teacher and I also work as a professor in political psychology.
Let's begin.
Make sure you are all seated in such a way that you can face each other.
And take a moment to really look at each other.
See the other in the eyes.
And if you have to giggle or to laugh,
No worries just do it.
Laughter is good,
Laughter is healthy.
Now gently close your eyes.
Settle and relax.
If there is any tension in your body,
Shift and relax even more.
Now bring all your attention to what you hear.
Loud sounds like my voice are obvious,
But what about distant sounds?
Subtle sounds.
Do you hear your heart beating?
The breath of the person sitting next to you.
What do you hear?
Bring your attention to how you sit,
How your bum is resting on the seat of the chair,
Your back against the chair.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Can you feel something more subtle?
The way your blouse rests on your skin.
Air touching your skin.
What do you feel?
Bring your awareness to all the people in this room.
And with your eyes closed,
See or know them to be here with you.
Experiencing this moment of peacefulness.
Being in the present moment.
Getting ready for a fruitful meeting.
A meeting in which ideas will flow.
Ideas can be exchanged.
You are here sitting as part of a team,
No matter your function.
With these folks,
You work together.
You create progress.
You build on your expansion.
Together.
Okay,
Take a deep breath in.
Fully filling your lungs and your belly and hold your breath for a moment if you can.
Hold on to your breath and feel how it energizes you.
How it gets you ready to be part of an inspiring and productive meeting.
Can you take another zip of air in?
And gently breathe out,
Let it all flow out,
Sigh if you need to,
And feel how all tensions flow away.
Okay,
Gently open your eyes and look again at each other.
Can you feel the calmness,
The peacefulness?
These are your team members.
They're all together in this.
Let's start your meeting.
