Hi and welcome to this guided meditation by Marianne Love.
Listen to this recording when your mind and body are craving a pause from the busy world.
Find yourself a comfortable place to rest.
You could be sitting or lying down.
What might you need to make this time as comfortable as possible?
Gather pillows or cushions if you're sitting on the floor or ease yourself into a comfortable chair,
Allowing you to truly release into this time that you've set for yourself.
Perhaps you need to move a little,
Circling the shoulders,
Opening and closing the mouth to release any tension in the jaw or body.
Now it's time to settle into the gentleness of this moment.
Softly closing the eyelids now,
Beginning to quieten down the mind,
Tuning into the body as it breathes.
A soft breath in,
A soft breath out.
Notice the ebb and flow of the breath.
Becoming aware of the breath coming in through the nostrils and gently sweeping out through the nose or the mouth.
Simply feeling the movement of your breath.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to go.
Send your awareness to the contact that your body has with the chair,
The floor or the bed beneath you and with each breath sinking further into this support.
Being completely held in this moment and using this time to let go of the hold that the day has taken on you so far.
Dropping down closer to the support underneath you,
Trusting that the support will hold you.
Can you give yourself into the support?
A deeper breath in and a deeper breath out,
Allowing tension to leave your body with each breath.
Choose for this moment to be free of tension.
You're being lovingly held in peace.
Connecting to the ground once again that's holding you.
Allowing a deep connection with the earth below and as you connect tapping into the energy of the earth.
Can you allow the energy of life to hold you?
The earth will happily receive what you would like to let go of.
Softening now,
Relaxing the eyes,
Deep down behind the eyes,
Inside and outside of the ears and behind the earlobes begin to soften.
The jaw softens,
The neck,
The inside of the throat,
The shoulders and the shoulder blades begin to melt down the back.
The heart space perhaps tuning into the slowing down of the heartbeat.
The belly rests,
Relaxing from the shoulders down the arms to the elbows from the elbows to the wrists,
The palm of your hand to your fingers.
The hips rest and release and do the thighs,
The knees,
The shin bones,
The heels,
The soles of the feet and the toes.
Knowing that this stillness and the quietness will allow more space in your body.
A gentle letting go,
Releasing what no longer serves you.
Allowing space for more energy,
Creating room for strength,
Finding freedom to start a new path or allow new beginnings.
Bathing into the space that you have created and resting down into the gentleness of this moment.
Begin to slowly become aware of your breath.
Gently coming back to your body,
Sensing a deepening of the breath,
Gradually beginning to move the body,
Softly and slowly lulling yourself into this present moment.
Painting yourself back in your space,
Quietly whispering thanks to yourself and softly opening your eyes.
