Hello and welcome to the very first episode of the Synergy Sessions.

You've have seen that it was previously Serenity Streams Meditations,
But I've changed it to add some regular podcasts as well as the meditations.
So I'm Georgia Clare and I'm very excited to have you here because we're going to explore practices,
Tools and insights that have helped me to rebuild,
Heal and thrive,
And this can help you to do those things too.
This podcast is all about combining calming meditations with actionable insights.
So whether you're here to find inner peace or take meaningful steps in your life,
You're in the right place.
For this very first episode,
I want to talk about one of the most transformative practices I've encountered.
Gratitude.
Gratitude has been a cornerstone of my own healing journey,
Helping me navigate difficult times and shift my focus towards growth and abundance.
Today,
We'll dive into why gratitude is so powerful,
How it impacts our lives,
And most importantly,
How you can start incorporating it into your daily routine.
I'll also share some practical steps,
Some reflective questions and ways to stay motivated.
By the end of this episode,
I hope you'll feel inspired to make gratitude a part of your life.
So let's get started.
Gratitude is often described as a simple practice,
But its impact can be profound.
At its core,
Gratitude is about recognising and appreciating the good things in our lives.
It shifts our focus from what's missing to what's already present.
Dr Robert Eamons,
A leading researcher on gratitude,
Has found that gratitude improves mental health,
Strengthens relationships and even enhances physical well-being.
By focusing on what we're grateful for,
We're essentially training our brains to seek out positivity.
As Bob Proctor said,
Gratitude hooks you up to your source of supply.
It's the greatest vibration you can get into.
When we're in a state of gratitude,
We're aligned with abundance.
This isn't just about material things.
It's about cultivating a mindset that attracts more of what we want.
I've seen this in my own life so many times.
During times of heartbreak and change,
Gratitude has been my anchor.
By focusing on what I still had – my health,
My daughters,
My writing,
My friends,
Our beautiful home – I've found the strength to keep moving forward.
As Brené Brown writes in her book,
One of my favourite books,
The Gifts of Imperfection,
Practising gratitude invites joy into our lives because we recognise and celebrate what we already have.
And joy,
Even in small doses,
Can be a powerful force for healing and change.
Let's talk about how you can start practising gratitude today.
Here are three simple but very impactful steps.
1.
Start a Gratitude Journal Every morning or evening,
Write down three things you're grateful for.
These don't have to be big things.
Sometimes it's the small joys that matter most.
Like,
I'm grateful for the sunshine today.
I'm grateful for the cup of tea I had this morning.
I'm grateful for a kind message from my friend.
Another tip is to keep your journal by your bedside so that you make this a morning or nightly ritual.
I've been doing this now for years and it's made a huge difference.
I do mine in the morning and it's made a huge difference in how my day goes because I'm starting my day thinking of everything good in my life.
2.
Gratitude Reframe When you face a challenge,
Ask yourself,
What can I appreciate about this situation?
For example,
If you're feeling overwhelmed at work,
You can reframe it as,
I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn through these challenges.
Now,
I have to say that this doesn't mean dismissing difficulties,
But finding a silver lining really helps to navigate them.
3.
Express Gratitude to Others Take a moment to thank someone in your life.
This could be a heartfelt thank you note,
A quick message or even a simple,
I appreciate you.
Expressing gratitude doesn't just uplift others,
But it also uplifts us and it really strengthens those relationships.
To deepen your gratitude practice,
Take some time to think about these questions.
You might want to get your journal out while you think about them and to write down your answers.
The first one is,
What are three things in your life right now that you're truly grateful for?
2.
How does focusing on gratitude make you feel?
How does it shift your perspective?
3.
What small daily practice can you start today to cultivate more gratitude in your life?
I make a suggestion that you stop the audio,
Maybe a little bit of music,
Go back a little bit and write down these questions.
If journaling isn't your thing,
You can try thinking about these,
Reflecting on them during a walk or a quiet sit down in the afternoon.
Gratitude is not just a feeling,
It's a practice,
It's something we cultivate day by day.
And while it might feel awkward or forced at first,
The key to it is to start small and to stay consistent.
There's a quote from Glennon Doyle's book,
Untamed,
Gratitude is contagious.
When we notice the good,
It grows.
The more we focus on what we're grateful for,
The more we create space for joy,
Healing and opportunity.
Can I encourage you to commit to one gratitude practice this week?
Maybe it's a gratitude journal or maybe it's just saying thank you more often.
Whatever it is,
Notice how it makes you feel and what changes in your life.
As it's the new year,
One of the best things that I did last year that I want to share with you is I had a gratitude jar and every night before I went up to bed,
I had little pieces of paper and a pen by the jar.
And every night before I went up to bed,
I would think of one thing that I was really grateful for that day.
Some days it was big things,
But mostly it was small things.
A hug from my daughter or a cup of tea with my friend.
Just so many nice little moments.
And on the 1st of January,
A couple of days ago,
I emptied the jar out and it probably took me a couple of hours to go through all the moments that I'd written down and some I'd forgotten about because they were just small moments.
But it just made me realize that last year,
Even though last year was challenging in some ways for me,
I had so many moments where I had so much to be grateful for and it was just wonderful to remember those moments.
So I did it.
I decided to do it every year now.
I had originally just thought I'd do it for a year,
But oh my goodness,
The feelings of looking back over the year and all the lovely moments that I'd had with friends,
With my daughters,
With.
.
.
And also me feeling gratitude for myself and being strong for pushing myself outside my comfort zone for accomplishing things.
It was really good.
So it's something that is going to be a nightly ritual for years and years to come now.
Today we explored the power of gratitude and how it can transform the way we heal and grow and create change in our lives.
If you enjoyed this episode,
I'd love to hear about your gratitude practices.
Share your experiences with me in the comments below or let's start a conversation about how gratitude is making a difference in our lives,
Because sharing this sort of thing gives other people ideas of ways to practice gratitude and it encourages everybody.
Before we go,
Let's take a moment for gratitude.
Close your eyes,
Take a deep breath and think of one thing you're truly thankful for right now.
Hold on to that feeling as you move through your day.
Thank you for being here.
See you next week.
