In the grounding meditation, I offer a practice that utilizes your already existing strengths to help you feel grounded, connected and spread clarity and confidence throughout your body. This specific practice not only helps you feel more connected to the earth but guides you in reaching upwards into the universe, pulling in the very source of your spiritual nature, merging it into your beautiful body! Whether you choose to use this grounding meditation practice regularly or simply take elements from it and create your own meditation, the tools you’ll gain from it will be invaluable. Following along even once will allow you to implement certain aspects of it while sitting in your car, feeling small in an important meeting, or any other time.

Transcript

Find a comfortable seat.

Take a deep inhale and as you exhale open your mouth and sigh the breath out.

Soften your shoulders away from your ears.

Feel your sit bones rooted and grounded into the floor.

Relax your hips and belly.

Continue to stay rooted below as you reach your heart and the crown of your head skyward.

Allow everything to slow down,

Sinking your mind into the subtle movement of your own breathing.

Simply sitting exactly where you are.

Bring your attention to a place in your body that feels relaxed,

Open and receptive.

It may be the tip of your nose,

Your belly,

Your shoulder.

Wherever this area may be,

Bring all of your attention there.

Allow this part of your body to light up in your mind.

Take a deep inhale and as you exhale open your mouth and sigh the breath out.

Do this again,

Inhaling.

Open mouth,

Exhale sigh it out.

Coming back to this area of openness.

Allow this part of you that is already in freedom,

Already in ease,

Already in relaxation effortlessly.

Allow this part of you to teach the rest of your body.

Allow this opening to expand throughout your entire body.

I'll take your awareness to the base of your spine and allow this sense of wholeness and presence to grow roots.

Visualize roots growing from the base of your spine.

Deep into the earth,

Past rocks,

Sand,

Water,

All the way down.

Coiling downward to the very center of the earth.

Once you come to the center,

See it as a bright golden light that represents nourishment,

Connection.

Feel your roots wrapping around this light.

And see your roots expanding with light,

Drinking in the nourishment.

Breathing this light,

This bright light of nourishment all the way up your root system,

The base of your spine.

Through your legs,

Hips,

Belly,

All the way up your spine.

And resting in the center of your heart.

Take three more breaths,

Becoming more aware of what it feels like to consciously drink in the nourishment that is available here in this moment.

Bringing it through your entire body until it rests.

And allow this nourishment to flow up to your throat,

The front and the back of your neck.

Through your jaw and face,

To both eyes,

The point between your eyebrows,

Your third eye,

To the crown of your head.

And allow that wholeness,

That nourishment to expand all the way through the top of your head.

As you breathe,

Light expands in all directions.

Allow the energy of your soul to get as big as it wants to get.

Expanding beyond the space of your environment,

Through the sky,

Through the world.

Opening and opening into vast space.

Feel your deep rootedness below,

In the center of the earth's nourishment.

And your expansion above,

To the highest levels of your awareness.

Slowly,

As if two streams are meeting for the first time.

See the light extending from your crown,

Dissolving back downward through the crown of your head.

See the light from the center of the earth,

Coiling back into your body,

Back up your spine.

And allow these two worlds to meet at your heart center.
