Hello and welcome.
This yoga nidra practice is for remembering what your body already knows.
Ease is your birthright.
During this yoga nidra you may feel yourself drifting in between awake and asleep.
Whether you drift off or not,
Nothing is happening to you.
There is no way to do yoga nidra wrong and the relaxing effects of it will still be felt.
Take a moment to settle in.
Find a comfortable and relaxing position lying down.
You may close your eyes or simply soften your gaze.
Make any adjustments for your body or shake out any wiggles before settling into stillness.
As you settle in,
Check in with your body.
Notice how your body feels and invite any areas of tension to release into the earth beneath you.
Notice how your breath is moving naturally as well.
Then begin to slow down your breath in your own way and in your own time.
Take a moment here to check in with any thoughts or emotions you're carrying now.
Just acknowledge them and then lay those thoughts or feelings down into the earth so your mind can rest here as well.
Now begin to notice where your body connects to the earth.
Notice the connection you have with yourself and your aliveness.
Notice the connection with the environment you're in and even others near you.
Know that each of these connection points further support you and your relaxation.
Now begin to connect with a peaceful place in your mind.
A place where you feel most free,
Free to relax and be yourself,
Nurtured and supported.
Whatever this place is,
Consider it your place of refuge.
You can return to this freedom-filled refuge at any time and anywhere.
With gratitude for this place,
Release the image and repeat this intention or sankalpa for yoga nidra.
Ease is my birthright.
Allow this intention to settle in and then bring your awareness back to your body.
Notice the softness of your body as it releases into the earth.
Notice the crown of your head,
Your forehead,
Your eyebrows,
Your eyes.
Notice your nose,
Your cheeks,
Mouth,
And your jaw.
Notice your neck,
Shoulders,
Your arms,
And your hands.
Notice your fingers and the back of your body,
Your upper back,
Mid-back,
And low back.
Then notice your chest,
Your heart space,
And your belly.
Notice your hips,
Your glutes,
Your thighs,
Knees,
Shins,
And notice your calves.
Notice your ankles,
Your feet,
And your toes.
Notice your entire vessel from the soles of your feet back up to the crown of your head.
Then feel into your vessel softening more now.
Repeat your intention.
Ease is my birthright.
And come back to your breath now.
Notice the natural rhythm of your own breath.
Watch your inhales flow in through the nose and watch your exhales gently flow out.
And observe this movement for three more rounds,
Watching the rhythm of your own breath.
And come back to your intention now.
Ease is my birthright.
Shift your awareness to your heart.
And take a moment to rest your awareness at the front of your heart space.
And then notice the back of your heart.
Rest there for a moment.
Return to the front of your heart.
And then return to the back of your heart.
Embrace both sides of your heart here.
Hold and held.
Repeat your intention.
Ease is my birthright.
And return to your peaceful place in your mind.
Your freedom-filled refuge.
Here you can rest for some time.
Uninterrupted and free to simply be.
Before returning from this peaceful place,
A loved one joins you to rest as well.
Here they offer you a message of support.
With an open heart,
Receive what they have to share with you.
Whatever arises,
Repeat the message back to yourself with gratitude.
And if no message arises,
Trust that your loved one's presence is enough,
Just as it is.
Express gratitude for this support and the space to be free,
At ease,
And at peace.
Trusting that you can always come back to this space.
Repeat your intention.
Ease is my birthright.
Release the image of your peaceful place.
Return to your breath with gratitude.
Then come back to your body with gratitude as well.
As you return to your body,
Gently wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Maybe you rock your head side to side or stretch out your arms.
Return at your own pace,
Waking up your body in your own time.
And open your eyes to one thing,
Then bring your awareness back.
Thank you for taking this time for yourself,
Remembering ease,
And for practicing with me,
Taylor Elaine.
Take care and rest easy.
