I'm so glad you're here with me today.

For 18 months,

I battled with depression,

Living from one dark day to the next.

This is how I broke free,

And I'd like to share a very powerful meditation with you.

I'd like you to close your eyes,

And feel the safety of the floor or bed beneath you.

Just acknowledge that what you're feeling is normal.

Any negative emotions you're experiencing,

They're all part of your growth.

Place your hand on your heart,

And take refuge in this place you can call home.

Just know that you can find peace within you.

Take a deep breath in and out,

And take refuge in this place you can call home.

The difference between a good day and a bad one is believing.

I'd like you to repeat after me.

I'll be with you for a long time,

And I'll be with you for a long time.

I'd like you to repeat after me.

I know I can find peace from within.

I am at peace.

I can be happy.

I am happy.

I am happy.

I am strong.

I have the strength to overcome adversity.

Take a moment to feel into your heart,

Your heart center.

This is your refuge.

Take a moment to feel into your heart,

Your heart center.

This is your refuge.

The one place you can always call home.

Acknowledging the stillness,

The pureness,

And the love that exists within you.

May your heart guide you with love.

It will guide you with resilience.

It will guide you with kindness.

It will guide you with kindness.

This is the one place that all of us can take refuge in.

Feel this stillness and pureness that binds us all together.

Press down a little deeper in your heart.

Press down a little deeper in your heart.

Acknowledging that it's been beating for so many years.

Everything you needed to overcome adversity lies within you.

It's been there all this time.

Supporting you.

Cheering for you.

And always being that place where you can come home to feeling safe.

Take a few deep breaths into your heart.

As you breathe in,

Do it with kindness.

Dear heart,

Thank you.

And as you breathe out,

Just let go of everything that's stopping your heart from being that pure place of refuge.

As you breathe in this time,

Visualize this radiating bright light from within your heart.

Feel the warmth and healing from this light.

Let this light fill your whole body with brightness and love.

Know that this brightness from your heart will give you strength,

Resilience and ultimately joy and peace.

As you bask in this beautiful glowing light,

Embrace the kindness from your heart.

Showering yourself with lots of loving kindness and love.

Feel every part of your body being filled with this amazing light.

Know truly and deeply inside that your heart will always be there for you to come home.

It will always be there to guide you.

We will now move towards the end of the meditation with a few affirmations.

I'd like you to repeat after me in your own voice.

I am guided by my heart.

It will always be a place for me to come home to.

It will always be a place of pureness.

It gives me strength to overcome any adversity.

It gives me joy.

Thank you dear heart.

Thank you for always being there for me.

Slowly return to the comfort of the surface that holds you,

Whether that's the floor or the bed.

Take a final five breaths,

Slowly breathing into your heart.

Pressing your hands on your heart again once more.

Slowly breathing out and letting go of any doubts and worries and anxieties.

Because your heart is there for you to come home to.

It's always there to guide you and to hold you.

Finally,

I'd like you to place one hand on your heart and one in your belly.

Now hold yourself with kindness,

With love.

Just hold yourself and truly,

Truly,

Really believe that you have everything you need to be happy.
