"To forgive is the highest most beautiful form of love, in return you will receive untold peace and happiness." In this beautiful short guided practice, Ian Tucker encourages you to travel light. To put down the baggage that you have carried for so long and be free. Life is too short to be at war with yourself each day, enough now. It's time to let go...

Concentrate on your breathing.

As you stand at the beginning of your simple path,

You know there is a peace and tranquility here.

Notice how comfortable you feel.

How calm everything is.

You already know that only good can come from you being here.

As you stand at the beginning of your simple path,

Concentrate on your breathing.

Aum.

Your red heart floats gently in front of you.

On the heart,

In your handwriting,

Are the words,

I forgive you.

Focus on your heart.

Focus on the words.

Now you can feel a gentle warm breeze.

You can feel it on your back,

On your hair,

On your skin.

Feel its warmth.

This indicates that it is time to follow your heart.

Step forward and follow your heart as it slowly moves along the path.

Step forward and follow your heart as it slowly moves along the path.

Focus on your heart.

Aum.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Sense the peace all around.

The tranquility.

In the distance and a little further along your path,

You can see the person who you would like to forgive.

All is well.

Notice how grateful they seem.

How peaceful everything is.

There is a knowing that this is the perfect time for forgiveness and reconciliation.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Now visualize yourself standing facing the person as the heart floats between you.

You have followed your heart to this place.

Focus on your heart.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Focus on your red heart with the words I forgive you scribed upon it.

As it floats in front of you,

Reach out and take hold of it with both hands.

Now with a sense of relief,

Simply smile and give the heart to the person in front of you.

As you say to them,

I forgive you.

Notice how grateful they are.

How humble.

As they take the heart from you,

Say to them again,

I forgive you.

Now visualize as they take the heart and bow to you in gratitude.

Simply observe as they place the heart against their chest and watch as it becomes one with them.

Say to them one final time,

I forgive you.

Now both of you place your hands in the prayer position and bow in gratitude that you have been able to release all harmful emotions.

Sense the peace all around.

Know that your simple but profound act has set you free.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Deep but relaxed.

The other person gently dissolves from the scene and you are now alone.

Rest a while and as you look to the distance,

Enjoy the serenity and peace that you feel here.

It is now time for you to leave your simple path.

In the knowledge that you can return at any time and that only good can come from you being here.

Now when you hear the single relaxing tone,

Open your eyes.

Ons You

I listened to this on a very poignant day as I got ready for work, just to become familiar with the content. I will likely listen to this a few more times before meditating with it. I am finally beginning to heal after 9 plus years thanks to Insight Timer. And this meditation, I believe, can take me another step forward. Thank you πŸ™

I'm still getting used to imagining this unusual scene. But I feel deep down that this might finally be the right path for me after a long time of searching. Thank you for this extraordinary track. πŸ«‚πŸ€πŸ™

Thank you, Ian, I’m amazed how easy it is to step into that meditation guidanceβ€”a little more β€œethereal” style than I usually look for. I appreciate the visualization, and found it strongly enabling of forgiveness. I’ve known for several years that I had a lot of work to do in the forgiving department. When I set out on that journey, I figured I had to assess and forgive myself first. Lately, that job seems to be close to completion. I used this meditation to address forgiveness of stepfather, someone who I have long known was at the limit of his abilities, coming as he did to bravely marry a woman with 3 kids! It was a great relief to finally feel I could forgive him for the things that happened so long ago now. Thanks for the assistβ€”I’ll be working through the rest of the list of people I need to forgive! Namaste, Donna

Realise through this process that holding onto fear and anger is working to keep me safe but my fear now is that if I forgive I might be vulnerable again.
