What a beautiful gift it is to be able to breathe.
What a beautiful gift it is to be here right now relaxing and taking time out for you.
Today in this special meditation we will be focusing on being grateful.
When we are being grateful it means we are thankful and appreciate all the positive and wonderful things in our lives.
Being grateful is so powerful.
It is the simple act of saying thank you to the people we love,
To ourselves and to everything in life.
When we are grateful we begin to focus on all the millions of little things that are going well at this moment.
Instead of focusing on the things that aren't right.
There are so many miracles happening around us every day.
When we open ourselves up to see these miracles we feel so good inside.
We are filled with joy and gladness and our day becomes brighter and happier.
Let's imagine it is a sparkling sunny day.
You are feeling energetic and happy.
Your best friend has told you about a secret garden that exists not far away from your home.
And today you feel inspired and curious to take a look.
Your best friend has kindly drawn you a map and it is very clear and easy to follow.
You reach your destination in no time and before you is a set of old forgotten stairs.
At the top of the stairs is a large and wide rusty gate made of iron.
It is mostly covered in moss and green vines growing wildly everywhere.
You are drawn to climb the steep windy stairs and slowly begin to climb up.
As you take your first step you breathe in the warm and light fresh air.
Feel it filling your entire body.
As you breathe out just let all your cares go and feel yourself starting to relax.
Taking another step up gently breathe in again.
Feel your lungs opening up with gratitude.
Gratitude for being alive today and for the fresh air that you are breathing in right now.
With each step you climb you feel calmer and calmer and you feel so safe and at ease here.
As you reach the entrance of the gate you are in such a relaxed state.
It feels so wonderful to be here.
Slowly you step inside and before you is the most beautiful and enchanting garden you have ever laid eyes on.
You are taken by all the flower beds filled with every kind of flower you can imagine.
Including daffodils,
Daisies and posies in the most vibrant colours bobbing gently in the soft breeze.
Around the flower beds are wild flowers growing everywhere and their scent is like sweet perfume filling the warm air.
Overgrown trees and fallen leaves are sprawled across the lush and spectacular secret garden.
You wander around soaking up the atmosphere of peace and serenity.
You see an old wooden bench to sit on and take a moment to pause and feel the sun's warmth on your head and shoulders.
Feel as it flows all the way down your spine on this beautiful and magical afternoon.
Butterflies and dragonflies glide through the air dancing and fluttering their sparkly and colourful wings.
Sometimes they seem to disappear behind the garden beds and trees but then they reappear and you can see the reflection of their delicate wings glittering in the sunlight.
A delicate ladybug flies gently onto the palm of your hand.
Her fine legs tickle your skin.
It feels so soothing and a big smile fills your entire being.
You take a moment to reflect on how wonderful it feels to be here and you think about all the many miracles in your life you are grateful for.
You are so grateful for the sun that rises every day and gives us daylight.
You are grateful for the rain that provides water to all the plants and the trees so that they can grow.
You are so grateful for the air that we breathe that makes us alive.
You are grateful for your family that fill your heart with love and joy and your friends that make you smile and shine inside and out.
You are so grateful for your pets and all the animals on earth and also for the moon and the stars that shine so brightly at night.
You are grateful for all of nature that surrounds us.
The trees,
The plants,
The oceans,
Mountains and forests.
And you are grateful for all the amazing people that help us every day,
The doctors,
Nurses,
Our teachers and world leaders.
And last of all you are grateful for this special moment,
This experience you are having right now.
Isn't life amazing?
It is filled with millions of little miracles everywhere you look and everywhere you go.
You feel so happy and blessed to be alive.
The world and our planet is such an amazing place.
Gently breathe in now.
Notice how peaceful you feel inside.
A feeling of joy and happiness flows through every cell of your entire body.
Slowly breathe out.
