I woke up today and the birds were chirping through the open window.
The sun was shining,
Casting a warm golden light on my room.
It was a beautiful reminder that every day is a new beginning.
We can choose what to do with the time that we have.
We can choose what mindset we take on.
We can choose how we show up in the world and how we show up for ourselves.
Let's begin our morning meditation by finding a comfortable seat.
Wiggling around as much as you need in order to find yourself in a position that you can hold for some time.
Placing a pillow maybe under the sit bones,
Sitting up nice and tall.
Relax those shoulders down and wiggle the jaw.
Let the eyes drop heavy into their sockets.
We have in our bodies the ability to connect to the sky,
To connect to the world beyond and also the ability to connect to the earth.
We're going to be drawing our awareness into both of those energies today.
From your hips down,
Starting to drop the weight of the body.
Every exhale dropping more and more weight.
Feeling the earth below you rooting in place.
And then from the hips upward,
Growing the spine tall,
Feeling light and expansive.
We have the ability to breathe in what we want,
To breathe in and exhale what no longer serves us.
So as you breathe in and grow the spine taller with every inhalation,
Can you think of one element,
One energy you'd like to take into your body today?
Maybe this is the feeling of being peaceful,
Of being in harmony.
Maybe this is the energy of compassion or of gratitude.
Maybe this is very simply the feeling of surrendering into your present circumstance.
Whatever comes to mind,
Breathing it in,
At the same time feeling expanse,
Widen across the chest,
Feeling length,
Moving up the spine,
Connecting to that feeling of being light and abundant in your body.
As you exhale,
Think about dropping the weight of the body down into the earth.
Every exhale connects us a little bit deeper into this place of groundedness.
Now can you think of something that you'd like to let go of?
Maybe this is movement through the body of feeling overwhelmed,
Anxious or frazzled.
Maybe this is the feeling of being out of sorts or out of control.
Maybe this is the feeling of needing to do too much.
Whatever it is,
Ground that energy into the earth as you send it away.
And every exhale drops the weight of the body and sinks your being into the supportive earth below.
One last exhale here,
Grounding the weight,
Sending out all that no longer serves.
And then returning back to the feeling of being light and abundant.
One last time,
Breathing in what you want to breathe in,
What you want to hold in your heart for the day.
Compassion,
Harmony,
Gratitude,
Surrendering,
Love.
I'm going to sit here for a few more moments in silence.
I'll ring the singing bell when it's time to begin our movement.
Don't worry about time,
Just connect to a place of peace within.
Starting to wiggle the fingers and toes,
Bringing some gentle movement back into the body.
Parting the teeth and let the jaw wiggle around side to side.
Watching the next two breaths as the air moves up towards the lungs and the chest.
And then exhale as the body softens in its place.
And again,
Breathing in and breathing out.
You can bring your hands to heart center or bring one hand to the heart and the other hand on top.
Starting the day with peace allows you to be in a state where you can take on anything that comes your way.
And so even if you're thrown off your center later this morning or later this day,
You can always come back to a peaceful place by closing the eyes and breathing in what you want to breathe in and releasing whatever does not serve.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
Namaste.
