I encourage you to rub a calming essential oil to the bottoms of your feet before we get started.
But it's perfectly okay if you don't.
Perhaps next time you can try this.
Find a quiet place and get comfortable.
Either sit or lie down.
Gently close your eyes and allow your body to relax into the surface beneath it.
Just become still.
Take a slow breath in and then exhale all the way out.
Take another slow and deep breath in,
Allowing this breath to be a little longer than the one before.
And then exhale completely out.
Exhale again and this time suspend your breath just for a brief moment at the top before exhaling slowly,
Allowing the breath to go all the way down your body and out through your feet.
Now allow your breath to just become easy and fluid,
However it feels comfortable and natural to you.
Bring awareness now to the top of your head,
Cheeks,
Your jaw.
Release any tightness that you may be holding there.
Let any tension be released.
Allow it to just fade away.
As you lie here,
Know that this is all that you need to be doing right now.
This is exactly the place where you should be.
Nothing else matters at this moment.
This time is for you to relax and become still,
To put away any worries or troublesome thoughts.
Nothing that may have already happened in your day is relevant right now.
It doesn't serve you.
At this moment in time,
All is well.
You are safe.
You are at peace.
Now take a deep breath in,
Suspending for a moment at the top,
And then exhale completely out.
Bring awareness now to your neck,
Shoulders,
Arms.
They are soft,
Relaxed,
And at ease.
Scanning down to your stomach and back,
Feel how they are lovingly embraced by the earth.
Your legs are heavy,
Strong,
And grounded.
Take another deep breath in and exhale out.
Your mind is calm.
Your body is at ease.
You are relaxed.
You are at peace.
You are safe.
All is well.
Namaste.
