Transcript

Hello.

Welcome to this beautiful meditation about releasing the ego.

It's a practice of gentle surrender.

So find a comfortable,

Quiet space.

You might wish to light a candle or have some incense burning.

And if you have a tea with you,

You can sip that slowly while going through this.

And that will be your ground.

We can make that your grounding ritual.

So depending on whether you have your tea,

You can sit.

Or if you don't,

You can lie down and close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

Hold for a moment.

Exhale slowly.

And with each exhale,

Allow your body to sink deeper into stillness.

Feel your shoulders drop.

Feel the weight of your body resting into the earth,

Safe,

Supported,

And held.

The rise and fall of your chest.

Notice the gentle wave of the breath as it enters and leaves your body.

And within each inhale,

You can say,

I breathe in peace.

And with each exhale,

I release control.

If thoughts arise,

Greet them softly.

Then just let them drift away like clouds passing through an open sky.

Now,

Imagine your ego as a small figure before you.

Perhaps it looks like a child version of yourself or a protective companion.

It's not your enemy.

It is a guardian that leaned to keep you safe.

And whisper inwardly to yourself,

I see you.

I thank you for protecting me.

You may rest now.

Visualize this ego self smiling and stepping back into a soft golden light.

You are not erasing it.

You are simply releasing its grip.

You remain whole,

But freer.

Feel your breath deepen.

Feel the quiet peace that comes when there is nothing to prove.

Visualize yourself sitting behind a wide,

Calm lake at dawn.

The surface of the water reflects the sky perfectly.

Every thought,

Every identity,

And every label you carry,

Gently place them one by one into the lake.

I am my story.

I am my pain.

I am my success.

I am my fear.

And watch as each one becomes a ripple,

Then fades back into the still water.

And all that remains is awareness itself.

Spacious,

Luminous,

And eternal.

And just breathe here for several minutes,

Resting in pure presence.

Now bring your attention back to your body.

Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest again.

A steady pulse of life within you.

I am the awareness that observes them.

Feel gratitude for your mind,

Your body,

And your journey.

For the opportunity to practice letting go.

And when you are ready,

Place one hand over your heart,

The other on your abdomen,

And take a deep breath in.

Whisper,

I release who I think I must be,

And return to who I truly am.

Open your eyes gently,

Carrying the softness into the rest of your day.

You may wish to close with a few sips of tea or water,

Anchoring yourself in the simplicity of being here now.
