This is a five minute meditation to help you be in a greater sense of awareness,
Spaciousness and presence through what we might call the gateway of silence.
This meditation is not about focusing on a particular object of concentration,
But rather you are invited to become aware of the innate living silence by finding that it's part of your very nature.
So allow yourself to be where you are right now,
Whether you're traveling,
Whether you're sat in your usual meditation place,
Whether you're in the office or outside,
Simply allow yourself to be here just a little bit more.
Allow yourself to feel your feet against the floor and you can feel the weight against your seat,
You're aware of your back rising up and you let your face be soft,
Your eyes be soft,
Let your jaw be soft and just noticing that your body is breathing and we take a slightly longer breath in and we just allow that to move away and two more times,
A longer breath in and then we simply let it go,
A longer breath in and then we let it go and just coming back to ordinary breathing,
Just being aware of whatever is around you and noticing that you can feel your clothes against your skin,
That you're aware of the air in your nostrils,
That the light is coming in through your eyes,
Whether your eyelids are open or closed,
That you're aware of the taste in your mouth and you're aware of the sounds that you can hear around you and the sound of my voice,
Just allowing yourself to be aware of the sounds around you,
Noticing that you can hear each sound and noticing that you can also hear the spaces between the sounds,
Between my words,
Allowing yourself to notice the spaces as much as the sounds themselves and just resting,
Just resting here and noticing how that feels for you in your body.
