Journey through the body meditation This meditation is designed to help you develop a healthy appreciation for your body.
It can be used as a mini vacation during periods of stress or difficulty in your life.
Take a moment to get yourself into a comfortable position.
Because the focus of this meditation is an inward journey to relaxation and replenishment,
Laying down and deeply resting is recommended.
Once you've settled in,
Let your awareness rest on the waves of your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall in your abdomen and relax for a while into its gentle rhythm.
As your body starts to soften,
Let your awareness sink even further into the waves of your breath.
See if you can feel into the fluid nature of your body and how the subtle movement of these waves impact your whole body.
Enjoy the flow of your breath and bring to mind a relaxing image from nature,
Perhaps resting on a beach or walking on a boat,
Soaking up the sun,
Or using a memory of the last time you felt really peaceful and good.
As you imagine this special place,
Take a bit of time to connect with how being immersed is.
Stay connected to the rise and fall of your breath,
And allow your vision of nature to get brighter and more vivid,
Noticing the light of the sun,
The colors all around you,
The movement of the trees and the gentle breeze.
As you relax here in this peaceful place,
Contemplate for a moment that your body too is nature.
The beauty you love when you go to your favorite mountain or lake or river,
That goodness you feel,
It's in you too,
Inside your body.
You're made of the same elements,
You're abiding on the same planet and inseparable from nature.
Continue to soften into the soothing rhythm of your breath,
Taking in the beauty that's all around you.
As you breathe in,
Imagine that you're able to take the energy of this place all the way into your body.
And as you breathe out,
Allow it to expand.
Continue to breathe in this way,
As if to blur the edges of your body slightly.
Breathing in this beauty,
Breathing out,
Soften and expand.
Allowing yourself to feel more and more connected to nature with each breath.
Allowing yourself to receive its healing properties.
Allowing yourself to feel more and more connected to nature with each breath.
Allowing yourself to feel more and more connected to nature with each breath.
Together,
We will go on a journey into your body now as a nature walk,
With this approach connecting all of that which you love when you are in nature to the feelings in your body now.
So let's explore,
Intentionally and mindfully appreciating the beautiful landscape that is you.
Relaxing into your body,
Pretend that you are meeting it for the first time.
Let your awareness sweep through your head and neck,
Taking the quality of goodness and relaxation with you.
Moving into your chest,
All the way into your lungs.
Walking through the inside of your body with reverence,
As if entering a sacred place.
Let your breath be your momentum,
Moving your awareness further through your body.
Breathe down into your belly,
All the way into your legs,
The palms of your hands and into your arms,
Back up your neck and into your brain.
Allow your awareness to broaden,
Spreading through your body all together.
Noticing the whole of your internal landscape,
Notice your physical body,
All its sensations,
And expand your awareness even further to include your mental and emotional bodies also.
Imagine yourself perched somewhere high,
Looking over a vast and gorgeous landscape.
Take some time to observe the whole of you,
Continuing to relax and receive nourishment from your body.
Notice what emotions are moving through you.
Imagine they are like clouds passing in the sky.
See if you can just let them move freely,
Just as you do with the clouds when you are relaxed somewhere beautiful.
Watching them move,
Flow and change shape.
Notice your mental state and your thoughts that come and go,
Like the movement of a gentle breeze through the trees,
Fluidly moving the grass and flowers.
Your internal experiences as simply movement through nature.
Notice how it is to allow all these movements to come and go,
Enjoying the goodness within you.
You are here to rest and enjoy.
As you continue with this exploration,
Stay connected to the notion that you have never been apart from nature.
You are part of the Earth,
Part of the universe,
That one with all the beauty that surrounds you.
Continue to use your breath as if your breath could illuminate parts of your body,
Mind or emotions,
As if breathing in light.
And as you do so,
Your inner landscape gets brighter,
As if the sun were emerging from behind some clouds.
As this scene continues to brighten through your breath and awareness,
See what qualities you feel yourself most drawn to.
Maybe you notice the softness of the wind,
Or maybe you enjoy the brightness of the sun.
Maybe you feel drawn to the strength of the mountains,
Or the resilience of new growth.
Or maybe you're most drawn to the feeling of loving nature,
And knowing nature loves you too.
Let's rest for a while longer and receive healing through the power of words.
Whatever you are drawn to in your experience now,
Form it into words starting with I am.
Say to yourself,
I am nature,
Or I am strength,
I am beauty.
Take your time here,
Finding the words that really connect for you,
And then repeat them until you can feel the vibrational quality in your body.
I am light,
I am strength,
I am beauty,
I am.
.
.
Please take your time now to really enjoy your gift from nature,
Letting the energies move into and through you for a few more minutes.
I am Though you are deaf,
And I amandr.
As we bring this meditation to a close,
Take your awareness to a life situation that's been on your mind lately,
And see if you can find something beautiful to focus on there too.
When you find the beauty of nature in the bright eyes of your laughing children,
Beloved pet or significant other,
Contemplate for a moment that many aspects of your life are nature too.
See all of your relationships as connected,
Beautiful,
And containing their own unique gifts from nature,
Just as you saw within yourself.
Let's close this meditation by turning a bit of attention to the good that's here in your world now,
Even though maybe hard to find,
Even just one micromilamter of good,
And then know that appreciating it helps it grow.
I'll let the music play for another few moments so you can really take your time coming back to the world.
I'll see you soon.
Thanks for listening.
