Hello and welcome to this New Moon Meditation.
During the New Moon,
The Sun and Moon are aligned in the sky,
Which signifies the merging of the masculine and the feminine.
Energetically,
It's the perfect time to be still,
To go inwards and to set intentions for the new cycle ahead.
So go ahead and get into a comfortable position.
As you inhale,
Beginning to lengthen through your spine.
And as you exhale,
Softening into your posture.
Inhale,
Lengthen and exhale to soften.
And that might mean relaxing through your shoulders,
Through the jaw or anywhere else that you notice you're holding on to tension.
So we're in this comfortable yet alert posture.
From here,
I want you to take your awareness outside of the room that you're in.
And just notice any sensations here.
The key is to notice the sensations and then let them go.
We don't want to drift off with them.
From here,
Bring your awareness into the room that you're in and notice any sensations here.
Just allowing them to come and go like clouds passing through the sky.
Gently now bring your awareness into your body and just notice how your body is feeling today.
And all the different points of your body that are making contact with your seat,
Allow them to sink deeper and to grow heavier.
Allow yourself to be fully supported by the ground beneath you.
And now bringing your awareness to your breath,
Not changing your breath in any way,
Just being fully aware of it.
How's your breath feeling today?
Is it long or short?
Is it deep or shallow?
How's your breath feeling?
And staying with your breath now,
I want you to notice where you feel the breath the strongest.
So this might be at the back of your throat,
Your nostrils,
Your upper lip,
In your tummy,
In your chest or perhaps somewhere else.
Find the point that you feel the breath the strongest and allow this to be your anchor.
Focusing on this point as you inhale and exhale.
And now with every inhale,
I want you to mentally say,
I am expanding.
And as you exhale,
Mentally saying,
I am letting go.
Inhale,
I am expanding.
Exhale,
I am letting go.
Inhale,
I am expanding.
Exhale,
I am letting go.
And keep going now at your own pace with your own breath.
Gently letting go of those words now and listening to my voice as I guide you through a reflection exercise.
Cast your mind back six months to the full moon in today's new moon zodiac sign.
Where were you?
What were your hopes and dreams?
What was your truth?
Where do you feel this in your body?
Now,
Slowly scan through the last six months.
What has happened?
What has this taught you?
What have you discovered,
Recovered,
Uncovered or reclaimed about yourself?
Which parts do you want to release?
What no longer serves you?
What would you like to leave in this current cycle?
Which parts would you like to nurture and bring to the surface?
How can you step out of your comfort zone and step into the truest,
Most beautiful version of yourself and of your life?
How can you create this reality for yourself?
Finally I'd love you to place your hands on your heart and imagine what it would feel like to let yourself be free,
To live your truth,
Allowing yourself to shine brightly and to celebrate all of you.
How would this feel?
Just noticing where you feel it in the body and any sensations that arise.
And now as we come to the end of this meditation,
Begin to come back into your body,
Perhaps wiggling your fingers and toes,
Making small movements with your wrists and your ankles,
Maybe even taking a full body stretch.
And as you soften your eyes,
Soften your lips,
A soft smile spreads and whenever you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes.
I encourage you to journal about what may have come up for you during this meditation.
Don't overthink it,
Just get some paper,
A pen and let the words flow.
