A way of remembering ourselves in the midst of the chaos of everyday life,
Bringing peace to your mind and ease to your body.
As we work together to regulate our nervous system in small,
Bite-sized practices,
You deserve this time to feel better.
Sitting up tall in a chair,
Scan your body quickly from the top of your head all the way down to your feet,
Noticing sensations without judgment,
Observing any areas that feel tight or tense,
And become aware of the place where you store stress in your body.
Next,
Feel your feet connecting to the floor beneath them,
Observing sensations on the soles of your feet.
And just for today,
Let's imagine that we can grow roots from the soles of our feet breaking through the floor,
Deep into the earth.
Sense your roots growing deep and wide,
Building a strong foundation of support beneath you.
As the saying goes,
The strongest trees are rooted in the dark places of the earth,
No longer judging your past,
No longer hiding from the darkness,
Begin to accept the support being offered to you,
Then send Mother Earth everything that no longer serves you,
Sending it down through your roots,
Handing it all over to her,
Give her your worries and fear,
Turn over your anger and frustration,
Allow her to take all of your burdens,
Your sadness and grief,
Rising out of the muck,
Feeling lighter from that release,
Breathe in hope,
Breathe in possibilities,
Breathe in potential,
Notice a tingling sensation at the tips of your roots,
Imagine a healing white light at the tips of your roots,
With each inhalation,
Draw that healing light up through your roots,
Into the soles of your feet,
Inhale it up into your body,
Filling up with support and love,
Until each and every cell within is illuminated,
Each and every cell vibrating peace,
Calm and tranquility,
Cultivating a sense of gratitude for this deep connection,
The support that is always there,
The breath our anchor into the present moment,
Where all is well,
Allowing your breath to find its own comfortable rhythm,
Sending gratitude into your body and mind for the ability to pause the busyness of your day for this brief moment of awareness and grounding.
