In this meditation, we will practice how to feel grounded. Having a sense of being grounded enables us to feel safe. We will connect to the earth and light up your inner flame. Then, moving through your body, enjoying the feeling of being safe and grounded, and connecting to your heart. Pausing for a while at your heart, connecting your breath, body, and heart. Then once again allowing this feeling to radiate throughout your being for a wonderful sense of peace.

Just making sure you are nice and comfortable,

Whether that is sitting or laying down,

Just taking a moment to settle.

Taking your attention to your breath,

Seeing if you can feel your breath,

And just noticing where your breath is in your body.

Is it in your belly or your chest?

Just noticing and observing,

Not changing or judging.

Taking your attention now down to the base of your feet and the bottom of your spine.

I'd like you to imagine that you've got imaginary roots that you can push down from your feet into the earth beneath you.

Your roots are going down further and further into the earth,

Deeper and deeper.

I'd like you to imagine this beautiful earth energy that you find here coming up through your roots into the base of your feet and the base of your spine.

This beautiful,

Warm,

Healing energy moving up your legs into your calves,

Your knees,

Your thighs and into your hips.

Allow this energy to just rest here at the base of your spine.

A light,

A small flame that sits within you here,

Resting in this place.

This glowing golden flame just warming up your belly,

Your digestive area,

Your lower back,

All of this area just warming up from your inner flame.

This golden flame of energy helping you feel warm,

Safe and secure.

Taking this flame a little higher now,

Making it a little taller.

Taking this beautiful healing energy from Mother Earth up into your chest area,

Warming your heart and spreading across your chest,

Your shoulders.

Flowing down your arms,

Through your elbows,

Into your hands and out through your fingertips.

Going back now to your chest,

Up into your neck,

Your head and imagining now that you have a beautiful flower just sitting at the crown of your head.

Allow the petals of your flower to slowly open one by one.

So this wonderful healing energy from the Earth that is moving all the way up through your body,

Warming up and allowing this energy to flow freely up,

Right all the way up to your crown and out of your flower at the top of your head.

And then this energy showering down all around you,

Surrounding you,

Encompassing you in this beautiful warm glow.

Just bathe now in this beautiful energy all around you.

And now gently allow your petals to start to close again,

One by one.

You can leave some open if you wish,

That is entirely your choice.

Feeling that energy moving down your body now.

Back down through your head,

Your neck,

Your shoulders,

Back to your heart.

I invite you now to bring your hands up and place a hand gently at your heart space.

Imagine that this is like a butterfly that's come to settle on your heart and slowly start to tap your fingers rhythmically.

Tap,

Tap,

Tap,

Tap.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Just enjoy and feel this connection to your body,

Connecting your heart,

Body and mind.

This gentle soothing rhythm,

Allowing you to feel at peace.

And as you sit here,

Tapping your butterfly on your chest,

Over your heart,

You might want to say to yourself in your mind,

I am safe.

Keep tapping.

I am safe.

I am safe.

Allowing your hand to rest back now in your lap.

Feel that energy move from your chest into your belly and your lower back.

Think of your flame at the base of your spine and allow that flame just to come down a little.

But remember to always keep your inner flame alight.

Going back now to those roots that you have in the earth and very gently starting to bring them back into the base of your spine and the base of your feet.

Having spent this time with this gorgeous earth energy,

Connecting with it,

Allowing yourself to be at one with it.

You will now feel so grounded and at peace within.

Taking a few slow deep breaths and gently starting to move your body however it wants to move.

Maybe taking a stretch or a yawn.

Do whatever you need to do and very gently and slowly coming back to the present moment when you are ready.
