As you get settled into your favorite sleeping position,

Know that you are held by the great power of the universe,

By love and peace and all that is good.

The universe gives life using the vast oceans and forests to create oxygen.

Soft rain falls from the heavens giving us the liquid which sustains us.

Imagine us trying to take care of this planet here suspended in the universe just as it allows for us to live this one beautiful life.

Close your eyes,

Allow a slight smile and prepare to enjoy the deep night's rest.

Notice the patterns on the back of your eyelids.

Sink into this space as your whole body begins to loosen.

Take a few deep breaths and let them out with a sigh.

Feel the stillness at the bottom of each breath.

Let your body soften with each exhale.

Letting go,

Limp and heavy,

The mind beginning to still like gentle mist over a lovely pond.

Divide your forehead in half and let each side relax,

Falling toward the ears.

Focus on the space between your eyebrows.

Try to widen this space with your mind.

Your head is heavy and relaxed.

You are ready to drift toward sleep.

Your eyes sink back into their sockets,

Softening.

Your jaw parts slightly as it lets go.

Let your jaw another 10%.

Take a deep breath into your neck and on the exhale,

Let all of those muscles and tendons melt into the mattress.

Try to lengthen your neck with your mind.

Your head and neck simply melt away,

Leaving you with just bones.

Let the relief of this moment sink deep into your shoulders.

Let them unwind.

Let them be heavy.

Let all of the muscles in your shoulders melt away.

Make sure your forehead is smooth,

Heavy.

You feel drowsy and content as you sink down,

Down,

Deeper and deeper.

Feel the music flow up and down your spine.

Notice any tension here.

Place the muscles on each side of the vertebrae,

One at a time.

Let them simply melt away.

You are nothing but bones,

Perfectly safe,

Deeply relaxed.

Your body is heavy.

Focus on your tailbone.

Imagine a soft ball of light there.

This swirling mass of healing energy encompasses your tailbone.

Let this space open.

Let the bundle of nerves there inflate and then release.

Let your lower back melt into the mattress.

Let your pelvis release.

You are receding,

Deeply relaxed.

Relax your arms,

Fingers unclenched.

Both arms heavy.

Let your legs and feet loosen.

Relax the space behind your knees.

Relax the balls of your feet.

Your legs are deeply still.

You are held in the loving arms of the universe.

Your forehead is soft.

Your whole body peaceful.

Melting.

Let all of the muscles and tendons melt into the mattress.

You are nothing but bones,

Completely content and relaxed.

Let the music flow through you and just let go.

Let it out.

I love the words and images you create with them - they help me a lot to surrender. Well combined also with your gentle voice and the softness of the music. Feels like being warmly held. 🙏🫶
