Do you love your plants?
While you're nourishing them,
Why don't we take a moment to nourish the mind as well.
We're going to savor this moment by taking in all of the different shades of green around you.
You'll notice the darkness,
The lightness,
The different hues.
You become aware of any sounds that exist in your periphery.
The smell of the garden,
Of the earth,
Any dampness that's in the air.
Then you'll notice the temperature of the air around you,
The places where it touches your skin.
You'll take a deep breath in through your nostrils and as you exhale,
Relax the shoulders away from your ears and release the back teeth.
What if you made watering the garden a place where you go each day to find a place of mental calm?
