In our daily lives we often encounter various saboteurs Negative internal voices that undermine our confidence cloud our judgment and hinder our ability to thrive These saboteurs such as the judge,
The stickler,
The pleaser the hyper-achiever,
The victim,
The hyper-rational the hyper-vigilant,
The restless,
The controller and the avoider can dominate our thoughts and lead us away from our true potential The judge is the master saboteur constantly criticizing ourselves and others leading us to feel inadequate or resent ourselves The other saboteurs each have their unique ways of derailing us The stickler demands perfection The pleaser seeks to gain acceptance by putting others' needs first And the hyper-achiever ties our worth to our achievements The victim focuses on emotional pain The hyper-rational relies solely on logic The hyper-vigilant remains constantly anxious The restless seeks constant activity The controller needs to take charge And the avoider escapes from difficult tasks and emotions However,
Within each of us also resides a sage A wise,
Empathic and positive inner voice that can guide us through life's challenges with grace and resilience The sage views obstacles as opportunities focuses on the present moment and responds to situations with clarity and compassion By learning to recognize the influence of our saboteurs and intentionally shifting to sage mode we can transform our internal dialogue and consequently,
Our external experiences As we move through this meditation we will explore the seven key areas of life The physical,
Emotional,
Intellectual,
Social,
Spiritual,
Financial and environmental In each area,
You will identify which saboteurs tend to show up and practice letting go of their influence inviting the sage to guide your thoughts and actions So find a comfortable seated position or if you are sleeping,
Just get yourself a little more comfortable Close your eyes and take a deep breath in,
Feeling your belly expand Exhale slowly,
Releasing any tension Feel your body grounded to the earth,
Rooted and stable Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine and your feet anchoring you to the ground These roots symbolize your connection to life and support you in your dealings and interactions with the world around you We start now with the physical area Bring your awareness to your body Feel its presence When you think about your physical self which is the saboteur that shows up?
Is it the judge criticizing your appearance?
Or is it the stickler demanding perfection in your fitness routine?
Visualize the saboteur and acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the judge or this is the stickler Now shift to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say My body is strong,
Healthy and capable Imagine the sage enveloping your body with compassion and be grateful for all that it does Moving now to the emotional area Put your hand on your heart Shift your focus to your heart space the center of your emotions Which saboteur shows up in your emotional life?
Is it the victim that makes you feel powerless?
Or is it the hypervigilant that creates constant anxiety?
Visualize the saboteur and acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the victim or this is the hypervigilant Now shift to your sage perspective Take a deep breath in and as you breathe out say to yourself I honor my feelings I honor my feelings and allow myself to experience them fully and imagine the sage enveloping your emotions with empathy and acceptance Now moving to the intellectual area Bring your attention to your mind,
Your thoughts and your intellect Which saboteur shows up in your intellectual pursuits?
Is it the hyper-achiever who ties your worth to your success?
Or is it the hyper-rational who dismisses all emotions?
Visualize the saboteur Acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the hyper-achiever or this is the hyper-rational Now shifting to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say Now shifting to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say My mind is clear,
Creative and insightful and imagine the sage enveloping your intellect with curiosity and clarity Moving now to the social area of your life Your relationships,
Your social connections and in this area identify which saboteur shows up Is it the pleaser who is constantly seeking validation?
Or is it the controller who has the need to continuously manage others and everything?
Visualize the saboteur Acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the pleaser or this is the controller And as we did before,
Shift to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say I am connected,
Loved and valued by those around me and imagine the sage enveloping your social interactions with empathy and mutual respect Move now to the spiritual area of your life Turn your awareness to your spirit Your inner sense of purpose and connection Which saboteur shows up in your spiritual life?
Is it the restless who seeks constant novelty?
Or is it the avoider who evades deeper reflection?
Visualize the saboteur Acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the restless or this is the avoider And now shift to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say I am in tune with my spirit I am aligned with my purpose And imagine the sage enveloping your spirit with calm and a deep sense of connection Move now to the financial area of life Bring your focus to your financial life Your sense of security And identify which saboteur shows up in your financial life Is it the judge criticizing your financial status?
Or is it the hyper-achiever tying your worth to financial success?
Visualize the saboteur Acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the judge or this is the hyper-achiever And now shifting to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say I am abundant and attract prosperity with ease And imagine the sage enveloping your financial situation with confidence and resourcefulness And finally turn your awareness to the environmental area Your environment Both your immediate surroundings and the larger world Identify which saboteur shows up in your environmental life Is it the stickler demanding perfection in your surroundings?
Or is it the avoider who neglects the space around you?
Visualize the saboteur Acknowledge its presence Label it gently This is the stickler or this is the avoider And now shift to your sage perspective Breathe deeply and say I am in harmony with my environment I create spaces that nurture me And imagine the sage enveloping your environment with a sense of peace and order And take a moment now to integrate all the positive affirmations you have spoken Feel the sage bringing harmony and balance across all areas of your life And when you are ready Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment Wiggle your fingers and toes And open your eyes And carry the sense of peace Carry the sage with you As you embark on your journey to life Namaste
