Allow your eyes to comfortably close.

As you do so,

Breathe out down the full length of your body,

Allowing your body to soften and release what it's brought with it here,

And no longer needs to carry.

Let it flow out and away.

Come down into your body's weight and volume,

And the movements your body makes as you breathe.

Allow your breath to slow and lengthen.

Take your attention down to where your body is making contact with the surface directly beneath it.

As you breathe out,

Allow it to take more of your weight.

Notice the support is steady.

Notice the steadiness is there for you now.

As you do so,

Notice the ground meeting your body's weight through the steadiness.

In your connect down to the ground below you.

As you do so,

Breathe the grounding energy of the earth up into your body,

And allow yourself to imagine you are a tree,

With strong roots anchored deep and wide in the ground beneath you.

Allow your upper body to be the trunk of your tree,

Sturdy,

Tall.

Take your time.

Notice the bark on your tree.

Notice how your tree has formed itself over time.

The way life has shaped your tree holds its own special individual beauty.

A magnificent tree that has survived and healed from many a harsh winter,

Drought,

Pestilence and storm.

Imagine and sense your branches way above you,

Reaching upwards towards sky and outwards to the light.

Notice your glorious canopy of leaves in your own time.

Imagine and sense your roots connecting to the rich underground network of fungi that sustains you and all the trees around you.

Everything coexisting in symbiosis,

Supporting,

Protecting,

Thriving,

Each tiny microscopic element playing its part.

An extraordinary living network there in the good earth beneath you.

Sense the power,

Strength and beauty of your tree.

Your roots going deep and spreading wide.

Your canopy of leaves dancing in the breeze.

Enjoy being your tree.

Let it nourish you and give you exactly what you need right now.

In your own time,

Gently become aware of the ebb and flow of your breath.

Notice the air is cool as it enters,

Warm as it leaves.

Sense the light of life around you,

In this moment,

Millions and trillions of dancing atoms of light.

As you do so,

Notice the air making contact with the surface of your skin.

Life force,

Full of positive possibilities.

And in your own way,

Allow yourself to become one with the larger whole surrounding you.

As you let that happen,

Offer the love in your being and the wisdom of your soul to the universal whole.

Offer the courage in your heart,

The joy in your spirit.

Offer the poetry that lives within you.

Let it all become one with this extraordinary life force around you.

And give thanks.

When you are ready,

Gently bring your attention back to the ebb and flow of your breath and the movements your body makes as you breathe.

Notice the air touching the surface of your face and body.

Become aware of the sensation as air enters and leaves your nostrils.

Notice the weight of your body making contact with the surface directly beneath you.

Notice the steadiness.

Breathe with the steadiness.

Notice the energy of your tree,

Still there within you,

To take with you over the coming hours,

Days and weeks.

And sense outside you once again.

Notice this miracle of life,

Full of dancing atoms of light,

Here with you now,

All around you.

Breathe it in.

Take it deep.

Let it recharge every cell in your body and renew every level of your being.

Give thanks once again.

And in your own way,

Your own time,

You can draw this meditation to a close.
