This is a body-based meditation for nights when effort no longer works. There is nothing to focus on, visualize, or control. The practice works with gravity, physical support, and the body’s natural response to being held. You’re invited to notice the sensation of weight and contact, without trying to change anything. This meditation is especially helpful when the nervous system feels alert, restless, or unable to settle despite exhaustion. You can use it at bedtime, after waking during the night, or anytime the body needs permission to stop holding itself up. Nothing needs to happen for rest to occur.

Transcript

Nothing needs to change right now.

Nothing is required of you.

Notice gravity.

Your body being pulled onward.

The surface meeting you.

Nothing holding you up.

Nothing you need to support.

Just the bed doing the work.

You are allowed to rest here.

There is nowhere else to go.

Stay with the feeling of being held.
