I’m writing a series of meditations, starting at 1 minute and going up till I’m not sure how long, designed to illustrate how much can be accomplished in a short time with some devotion and attention. The inspired meditator is pointed to the enormity of the smallest instant of time, and the immeasurable speed and scope of the mind. Each successive meditation contains more guidance, but also more silence for practice.

Transcript

Portraits of twelve God created the world in a week,

With one day off.

This is probably an exaggeration.

It was likely much faster than that.

Today's meditation is three minutes.

Think of what you can accomplish with your mind if you pay attention.

Take a few nice deep breaths and be fully present for the miracle of the human respiratory system.

Be with the sensations everywhere they can be felt in the body.

Witness the entire shape of your breath and gradually grow this shape with your imagination to fill the entire body.

With your body filled,

Let the energy of the breath become consistent.

Regardless of breathing in or out,

The body is completely filled with nourishing energy.

Stay with the whole body.

Stay with the breath.

Witness the tranquil mind.
