Snippets of Wisdom,

Number 65,

Exploring Contrast.

When life blows up,

Do you feel that you've done something wrong?

When you hit a brick wall and face plant,

Do you beat yourself up and blame yourself for making a bad decision?

Do you scold yourself,

Thinking you should be farther along?

Or do you look for a retrograde to blame?

I was thinking about this when I recently did something I thought was stupid.

I scolded myself and I said,

I wouldn't be in this situation if I hadn't done something wrong.

I viewed contrast as something to be feared,

As if it was a punishment for something I'd done.

That belief in punishment for doing something wrong creeps in from my religious indoctrination,

Where sinners and wrongdoers always suffer punishment.

So I had always viewed contrast as a bad experience and believed it was a punishment.

Boy,

Was I wrong.

This quote from Abraham Hicks corrected my thinking immediately.

When you are exploring contrast,

We want to remind yourself,

I am not doing something wrong standing in this contrasting place.

I'm doing something leading edge.

I am doing something more refining.

I am doing something more specific.

I am not standing in a wrong place.

I am standing in a right place.

I love how they said that we explore contrast.

That softens the dreaded power of it right there.

If I'm exploring something,

That sounds like I'm on an adventure,

And adventures are nothing like punishment.

Let's discuss what else they say.

Exploring contrast points to something on the leading edge.

Think of it as an adventure into innovation with brand new ideas never thought before in all of the universe.

Exploring contrast is an opportunity to refine what I want.

Exploring contrast is fine-tuning something more specific,

Clarifying the details of my desire.

Exploring contrast is standing in the right place at the right time.

This is freaking awesome to me.

I no longer need to fear contrast.

Contrast is my co-creating partner.

If I didn't have contrast showing me what I don't want,

How would I know what I do want?

I need that comparison to make decisions.

So I am in the perfect place to have an adventure into innovation and create something new.

I'm in the perfect place to get really specific about the details about what I want with great clarity.

And I'm in the right place to expand into the newest,

Bad-ass version of me.

If you get upset when contrast shows up,

Don't fear.

Just go exploring.

Big hugs,

Marianne.
