Hello,
My dear.
Welcome.
Today's practice is a guided meditation to help you pause and reset.
So you can turn a bad day into a good one.
We've all had those days where it feels like everything is going wrong,
But the truth is no matter what has already happened,
It's always possible to change our trajectory.
If we just take a little time to slow down.
So to begin this practice,
You can start in a chair or on the floor,
Close the eyes and just stop.
Relax.
Take a few big,
Deep breaths,
Inhaling to fill up the lungs.
And exhaling out through the nose or mouth,
Taking your time.
And as you continue to breathe here,
Bring your attention to the contact that your body is making with the chair or the floor.
Notice the slight feeling of pressure at each point of contact.
Sense the force of gravity gently pulling downwards,
Anchoring your body to the earth.
Just being really present with the sensations of your body as the breath continues to flow in and out.
And now I invite you to bring to mind something that happened today that is worrying you or is causing you some difficulty.
It can be a specific event or maybe it's just a feeling that comes to mind when you think about how your day has gone so far.
And as that memory or feeling arises,
Be aware maybe there's irritation,
Agitation,
Maybe there's sadness.
And also notice if any extra thoughts arise,
Any judgments of yourself or the urge to analyze.
And as you stay close with the experience of your body and your mind,
See if you can offer yourself some compassion,
A moment of comfort.
Maybe saying to yourself,
It's OK.
You're doing the best that you can.
Or you can always start again.
Taking whatever resonates and leaving the rest.
Offering yourself whatever you need most right now.
A word of encouragement.
Maybe a hug.
And gradually notice how you feel.
Opening to the quality of your presence.
Feeling yourself resting here at peace in the presence of your body.
In the present moment.
Knowing that however you approach the next moment is up to you.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and let some light back into the eyes.
Thanks for practicing with me today.
You've done some really good work here.
Have a great rest of your day,
My friend,
And I'll see you again very soon.
