This is a very special gratitude meditation to recognize and honor our village of women.

An opportunity for you to call upon and honor the incredible circle of women who have impacted your life,

To welcome in new connections with the women in your community.

They say it takes a village to raise a family,

To be connected,

To discover ourselves,

To accomplish things that are important to us.

You are not walking alone through this life.

You have had and currently have a village of women who have shown you love and support throughout your life.

Women who have guided you,

Mentored you,

Inspired you,

Challenged you,

And changed you.

So the intention of today's gratitude meditation is to call upon the spirits of the incredible women in your life so that you may honor them and express gratitude for them and the you that they have helped you to become.

So let's begin by getting into a comfortable position.

Allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze and make any adjustments to your body so that you can just be still and relax.

Take a deep breath in through the nose,

Filling your belly like a balloon,

And then exhale,

Releasing any stress,

Discomfort,

Or tension as you do.

Breathing in and filling the belly as it expands,

And exhaling as all the breath leaves your body.

Allow your breath to just settle into its normal rhythm and allow yourself to relax further into whatever position you have chosen.

I want you to imagine that you're standing on the edge of a cliff.

You're safe,

But close to the edge,

Feeling calm,

Breathing in the fresh,

Crisp air around you.

Your body is relaxed,

But you feel alive as you feel connected to the strength of the earth underneath of you.

You can hear the joyous sounds of the birds.

You can see this magical landscape painted out in front of you.

You feel rooted into the earth.

All of a sudden,

You feel a gentle hand touching yours.

You look to your right and you see her,

The woman who has mothered you,

Raised you,

Nurtured you.

Perhaps it's your mother,

Or an aunt,

A grandmother,

Or another woman who has been a mother to you throughout your years.

She's looking deeply into your eyes,

Flooding you with so much love,

Silently telling you how proud she is of you,

How amazing you are,

Holding your hand with the strength and softness that she has shown to you so many times before.

Breathe in her love.

Breathe in her strength.

Now feel as your other hand is slowly embraced by another.

Your gaze turns and you see your friend next to you,

Her eyes sparkling as she fingers her hands through yours.

I love you,

You hear her say,

And you let those words enter and fill you up.

She has really been there for you during past seasons of your life or even in this present one,

And she truly gets you.

She loves you for the imperfect,

Perfect soul that you are.

Allow yourself to breathe in her love and breathe in her friendship,

And you feel yourself strengthening,

Growing,

Shining as the energy of these two women live so deep within you.

You see another woman stepping into the hand-holding chain that has now been created.

She looks at you and smiles.

You look at her and you feel yourself lightened up,

Grateful for who she has been to you and how she has impacted your life.

For the next few minutes,

I want you to continue this vision,

Watching as one by one,

The most important women of your life come together to connect,

Sending their love and strength to you as they hold hands with one another.

Mentors,

Teachers,

Mothers,

Aunts,

Grandmothers,

Daughters,

Friends,

Colleagues,

Leaders,

Identify each of them as they join the chain and thank each of them for who they have been to you.

Now bring your attention to your hands,

Each one infused with the love and energy of the lineup of women on either side of you.

Look out into the breathtaking vastness of the landscape in front of you.

Then you look to your right and you look to your left and you witness the breathtaking vastness of the women who stand beside you.

This is your village.

Let this gratitude fill your heart as you root yourself deeper into the earth,

Deeper into your connection with each of them,

Deeper into your knowing that together you are all better.

Whether you seek friendship,

Healing or personal growth,

This circle of women is where all your voices are heard.

This is where your heart is nourished.

You welcome these women with a special gratitude and support.

They say it takes a village.

Welcome to your village.

Slowly allow yourself to come back to the space around you,

Opening your eyes,

Maybe taking out your journal and jotting down a few notes,

A few memories of who came to your circle.

Thank you for taking the time to meditate with me today.

Namaste.

That was very beautiful an powerful. I cried during the entire meditation. Many in my village are no longer physically here, The line got so long that I couldn't see everyone. So grateful for the women who have touched me and carried me. Thank you for this experience, Melissa. Namaste 🙏💕
