Welcome to your moment of relaxation during an otherwise busy day.
I invite you to sit in a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.
You may also visualize the serene imagery of winter as I guide you through this meditation.
If you have distracting thoughts at any time,
It is okay to acknowledge them,
And then gently guide your focus back to the meditation.
Now let's begin.
Take a deep breath in,
Allowing fresh air to fill your lungs.
And as you exhale,
Imagine any tension melting away,
Leaving your body as you enter a tranquil winter landscape.
Breathe deeply to a count of four,
And hold your breath gently for a few moments,
And then exhale slowly to the count of six.
Take two more rounds of this mindful breathing.
With each breath,
Feel yourself settle into the serene beauty of a quiet winter forest.
When you are ready,
Bring your breath back to normal.
As you breathe naturally,
Envision yourself standing in a snowy clearing surrounded by tall,
Majestic trees,
The piercing blue sky in front and all around you.
The sky offers clarity and calm.
You feel warm in your winter jacket,
And your breath connects you deeply to this wintry,
Vibrant scene.
As you continue to breathe,
Notice the sharp contrasts around you.
Fresh,
Dazzling white snow blankets the ground,
Reflecting soft,
Golden light of this day's sun.
Trees are lined up across the snow,
And you can hear a gentle rustling of branches from a slight winter breeze or perhaps a small,
Active squirrel.
Each tree stands steadfast in the cold.
The peaceful stillness of the forest mirrors the stillness within.
Take a moment and reflect on the quiet beauty of this space.
Continue to breathe,
And as you exhale,
Let go of thoughts that no longer serve you.
Just as the trees hibernate during the cold winter,
Preparing for spring's renewal,
May you also trust the process,
Knowing that taking time to rest and recharge nurtures space for your individual growth.
Take one more deep breath and inhale the calm of the winter landscape.
As you exhale,
Release any remaining tension,
Embracing the tranquility of this moment.
When you are ready,
Gently return to the present moment.
You may open your eyes if they were closed,
And carry the serene peace of your winter landscape with you as you move into the rest of your day.
I am Melissa Lombardo,
And I hope you have gained additional peace in this winter stillness meditation.
Thank you for your presence,
And I wish you a calm and beautiful day.
