Welcome to your moment of relaxation during an otherwise busy day.

I invite you to sit in a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.

You may also visualize the serene imagery of finding a peaceful stream just beyond a beautiful meadow as I guide you through this meditative reflection with an original poem.

If you have distracting thoughts at any time,

It is okay to acknowledge them and then gently guide your focus back to the meditation.

Now let's begin.

Take a deep breath in,

Allowing fresh air to fill your lungs.

And as you exhale,

Imagine tension melting away,

Leaving your body as you are transported to a meadow landscape just as the sun is rising.

Breathe deeply to a count of four,

Hold gently for a moment,

Then exhale slowly to a count of six.

Repeat this mindful breathing two more times.

And with each breath,

Imagine yourself in a meadow just after sunrise on a warm and beautiful late spring morning.

When you are ready,

Allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm,

Flowing effortlessly like a gentle rise and fall of a light breeze.

The first golden rays of sunlight stretch across the horizon,

Casting a warm glow over our landscape as the day awakens.

As you continue to breathe,

Imagine yourself stepping forward.

You find yourself surrounded by a meadow bursting with life,

With thousands of multicolored wildflowers swaying to the sounds and sensations of nature.

The air is fresh,

Carrying the scent of a dewy morning in the light perfume ambience of sunflower and lavender.

As you walk barefoot across the meadow,

You are aware of birds chirping with each other,

Their songs weaving into the rustling of tree branches.

As you continue walking through your landscape,

You can now hear the distant murmur of flowing water.

With each breath,

You become more attuned to the rhythm of nature around you.

Drawn by the soothing sound,

You slowly and intentionally walk toward it.

Each step light upon a lush bed of green grass below your feet,

Grounding you in the present moment.

As you reach the meadow's edge by the tree line,

A tranquil stream makes its way through smooth stones and moss-covered banks.

The water glistens,

Catching the sunlight in playful ripples.

You settle onto the embankment,

Feeling the earth solid beneath you,

A steady presence as the water flows freely before you.

Here in this moment,

You pause to contemplate the nature of flow.

The way the stream moves effortlessly around obstacles,

Adapting,

Reshaping,

And continuing forward.

The stream does not resist.

The stream does not force.

The stream simply moves,

Trusting its path.

As you sit on an embankment,

You reflect on some of the meanings of flow while recalling a poem that talks about letting go of worries and resisting less.

Flowing river,

I finally feel I can be free.

Carry away my worries for me.

Let them go,

Let them flow,

Drifting gently down the stream.

A stick floats down the river and sways with ease,

Guided by small,

Rolling waves.

I am like the river,

Adapting and shifting,

Warmed by sunlight,

Feeling greater joy as I begin to renew.

No more struggle,

No more fight.

I am flowing onward and feeling the light.

As I let my worries drift away,

My one true vessel carries me forth with each new day.

I invite you to let this imagery and these words guide you for the rest of your day.

A gentle reminder that each moment is a gift,

And life flows with ease when we surrender to its current.

Just like the stream,

You are ever-moving and ever-adapting.

Know you are part of the beauty that surrounds you.

As you let go of your worries,

My hope is that peace and serenity flow freely within you,

Carrying you forward into all of your moments.

Take one more deep breath and inhale the fresh scent of this calm morning meadow and its peaceful stream.

As you exhale,

Release any remaining tension,

Embracing the tranquility of this moment.

When you're ready,

Gently return to the present moment.
