This mindfulness meditation practice is an invitation to turn toward sound as an anchor and a guide. The intermittent sound of the gong and the silence which emerges from its passing encourage deep listening and awareness in one's immediate present moment environment.

The intention for this practice is to turn toward listening,

And this time instead of words as guidance,

To use sounds as the anchor.

I will ring a higher pitched gong to start and to end,

And in between I'll use a lower pitched one and ring that intermittently.

So please settle into whatever posture will be supportive of your practice.

And when you notice your mind wandering,

Use the sounds that you hear and notice the silences between the sounds and make use of those as an anchor to bring the mind back to this present moment experience wherever you find yourself.

A wonderful practice with differing bells at random intervals and the slightest ambient sound in between to land your focus. Particularly helpful to me as my mind wanders and this keeps me alert. Thank you!
