This is a somatic meditation designed to support us in deepening awareness and acceptance of our core drives through the organic technologies of visualization and visceral perception.

There are many scientific theories that aim to quantify,

Qualify,

Understand the chakras through a physiological lens.

Some suggest that the chakras relate to large nerve intersections along the spine.

Others hypothesize they have something to do with the vagus or wandering 12th cranial nerve.

But what if the aim is not to understand,

But to sense and feel?

This approach is at the heart of indigenous ways of knowing across cultures and continents.

The reality is there is so much we don't know.

So for now,

Open yourself up to the mystery and magic that is within you.

Let's begin,

Shall we?

Sit comfortably or lie down on the floor.

Either way,

Support your bones,

Muscles,

And tissues.

Choose a posture that meets you where you are today.

Invite deep,

Fine,

Relaxed breaths.

Allow what's there to be there.

Sense and feel.

Wait and listen.

Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism.

It takes place in marine animals,

Fungus,

Bacteria,

Fireflies.

Shepherd your awareness to the base of your spine,

The pelvic floor,

Tailbone,

Even the inner thighs.

And imagine you have your own bioluminescence.

Silently say to yourself,

I trust.

Now guide your awareness up a little bit higher to your low belly,

Low back.

I want.

Imagine bioluminescence.

I want.

Travel your consciousness up into your belly brain,

The stomach,

The low back ribs just beneath the diaphragm.

Bioluminescence.

I know.

I know.

And to the heart from the front to the back,

I connect.

To the throat,

I share.

To the third eye,

I see.

To the crown of the head,

I am that I am.

Walk your awareness back down the same way you came.

Focus in the crown of the head,

I am that I am.

Bioluminescence in the third eye,

I see.

To the throat,

I share.

To the heart,

I connect.

To the belly brain,

I know.

To the low belly,

Low back,

I want.

And to the base of the spine,

I trust.

Where along the spine do you feel the most vibration,

The most prana,

Chi,

Energy?

And where in the spine do you feel the least?

Notice and let go.

Are you attracted to a particular energy center?

Averted?

Indifferent?

And what if you simply open your awareness to allow for bioluminescence to take place anywhere inside your skin?

Maybe even just outside your skin?

Right.

Come home to your heart.

Let's take one more collective breath together,

In and out,

As we seal our practice.
