Hi,
This is Nathalie,
And if you're here,
Chances are you've been living a lot in your head lately.
Thinking,
Replaying,
Analyzing,
Trying to figure things out.
This practice is not about stopping your thoughts or fixing your mind.
It's an invitation to step out of thinking for a moment and return to something much simpler,
Your direct,
Lived experience.
Nothing mystical,
Nothing you need to do well,
Just a gentle return to what's already here.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
You can sit or lie down,
Whatever feels easiest to stay present.
And when you're ready,
Let your eyes close or soften your gaze.
Before we go anywhere,
Let's gently interrupt the mental loop.
Not by pushing it away,
But by giving your attention something very concrete.
Right now,
Notice one sound you can hear.
Not all sounds,
Just one.
Let it come to you.
Let it play with your eardrums.
Now,
Notice one physical sensation,
Maybe pressure,
Warmth,
Tingling,
Or contact.
Notice one physical sensation.
You don't need to name it,
Just feel it.
And now,
Notice one neutral visual impression,
Even with closed eyes,
Like light,
Darkness,
Movement behind the eyelids.
Notice one neutral visual impression.
This is helping you to come out of abstraction.
Thoughts live in abstraction,
And sensation lives in reality.
Stay here for a few breaths.
Now,
Instead of asking,
What am I thinking,
We'll ask something else.
Gently ask yourself,
What is it like to be me right now?
Don't answer with words.
Wait.
What is it like to be me right now?
There may be a vague sense,
A texture,
A background feeling.
It doesn't need to make sense.
You're not trying to understand it.
You're simply keeping it company.
Sensing what it is like to be you right now.
Notice where you feel this most clearly.
Not sharply,
Just approximately.
Noticing where you feel this sense of being you most clearly.
And instead of zooming into that area where you feel it most clearly,
Let your awareness rest around it.
As if you were sitting next to something,
Rather than staring at it.
Imagine yourself sitting next to it,
Rather than staring at the sense of being you right now.
Witnessing being you.
And if thoughts jump in,
That's okay.
Each time,
Gently return to the felt sense.
This is presence.
Just being with what is.
Gently witnessing.
Keeping yourself company.
Now,
Notice if your body wants something very small.
Maybe a deeper breath.
A swallow.
A subtle shift.
Let it happen or not.
You're not following instructions.
You're letting the body take the lead for once.
Thinking tries to lead with answers and opinions.
The body leads with signals.
Can you allow yourself to hear the signals of your body right now?
Stay with this for a few moments.
And notice how thinking often softens when it's no longer in charge.
Before we end,
Take a moment to notice.
Do you feel more here than when you started?
And remember,
This is something you can return to any time,
Not by thinking less,
But by feeling more directly.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Again,
This is Nathalie.
Thank you so much for being here.
