Namaste,
My name is Nini Lee and welcome to this smiling meditation.
I invite you now to find a comfortable meditative position.
You could be sitting with your spine elongated with the base of your spine grounded into the earth or if you like you can lay down somewhere.
Allow your hands to rest either on your thighs,
Knees or on the ground and just let your eyes gently close.
Now I invite you to bring your awareness to your breath as you breathe in and out.
Just notice the quality of your breath allowing your body to soften,
To relax with each breath.
You ground into the present moment,
You are connected fully with your breath and with this moment.
Now just soften your shoulders,
See if you can just pull them back a little bit,
Opening up your heart space,
Allowing the universe to gently kiss your soul.
Relaxing your eyebrows,
Your cheekbones,
Jaw,
Just fully softening into the beautiful space that you are in and the space that is in your body.
Breathing in I am aware,
Breathing out I am aware.
Now just gently bring a smile to your face and as you smile feel how the muscles around your mouth move as your smile grows and glows.
Notice any sensations you feel around your face or moving through your body as you practice this art of smiling,
Of intentionally smiling.
Continue to smile,
See if you can widen that smile while bringing awareness to your heart.
Imagining yourself smiling to your own heart.
How does your heart feel now as you smile to it?
If you like you can bring your hands to your heart and just breathe into your heart while keeping your smile open,
Joyful and just notice,
Notice what happens in your heart and now gradually let go of your smile and allow the muscles around your mouth to move back to neutral position.
Now notice how does your heart feel now that you're not smiling?
What is it feeling?
What is the sensation in and around your heart?
Now I invite you to smile again,
Reconnecting with your joy,
With your happiness radiating from within.
Let your smile gradually grow and glow as it happens and bring your awareness back to your heart.
Feel your heart,
Feel the joy that you express through the smile in your heart and now allow this joy,
This happiness and whatever other feelings and sensations that are moving through you to sprinkle all through your body,
Activating every cell in your body,
Every bone,
Every muscle,
Every part of your being is filled with this incredible feeling of joy and happiness.
You are joy,
You are happiness.
Your smile,
Your simple radiant beautiful smile can have such powerful effects on your body and your experiences.
So I invite you throughout your days,
Smile to others,
Smile to yourself,
Smile to the earth.
I invite you now to reconnect with your body,
With the environment that you are in.
Taking a nice deep grounding breath in and out.
Whenever you feel ready you can slowly open your eyes and arrive back into the space.
