This is a simple meditation to support you to be able to ground yourself when a lot of things are going on in your life and so that you can take refuge in the ground that holds you in your body and therefore feel carried in your life.
Allow your eyes to be open in this moment and look around in your environment,
Noticing three colors,
Two sounds that you can hear,
One thing you can smell or taste and then begin to allow yourself to also look around in the room and find what is good in the room,
What feels safe and good.
It can be a plant,
A book,
A cup of tea,
A picture and let your eyes rest upon that object or that being and breathe here and your eyes softly rest there and breathe noticing how this affects you.
Maybe you can sense safety and then drop with your awareness down to your feet and to your buttocks and sense your feet are held below and so is your buttocks,
Maybe through the chair you're sitting on or the couch,
The floor or the meditation cushion.
Bring the awareness to the sensation,
Having something physical that holds you from below.
With your next out breath drop your weight into that,
Give your weight to that cushion,
Allowing the shoulders to drop down and you might even sense that your spine is dropping down.
Feel the gravity from below,
Taking refuge in the truth earth holds you regardless what is going on in your life,
Regardless of all the thoughts or emotions.
There's a ground for your body to be held in.
Allow yourself to drop even deeper into that sense of being held from below.
Notice what happens with your breathing,
There's nothing that you need to create or make right now,
You are held exactly as you are.
You do not need to change anything or fix,
You are held just as you are.
Lean into that as if a force,
Far greater force is holding you,
You might even sense it is presence,
It is love holding you forever and always.
Keep leaning into that,
Resting into that.
Notice what happens in your mind,
In your body,
In your emotions as you lean into that greater hand that got you.
As you lean into simply this seat where you're sitting on,
Maybe you receive a taste of silence,
Of peace emerging from your being,
From the ground.
Allow yourself to rest for a while,
You're allowed to rest,
You're being held and savour it.
You don't have to hold it together in this moment,
You're held.
Lean into that.
