Hello,
It's Nisha from Joyful Living.
Hope you're all well.
So today,
As I actually hurt my ankle,
So I have to actually practice this myself,
Resting without guilt.
So this is for people that sometimes find it hard to rest and to let go.
Just resting without the guilt that sometimes we feel that we need to carry on doing.
So perfect for when you find it hard to truly relax.
If you feel guilty or unproductive if you're resting.
If your mind keeps telling you there's something else you should be doing.
This yoga nidra is a safe space to let go of the pressure and remember that rest is not something you earn.
You deserve.
So,
We need to get really comfortable.
So lying down on your back.
Arms resting by your side.
Perhaps lying on your bed with a blanket over you.
And get really comfortable.
Have your palms facing up in receiving mode.
Gently close your eyes.
And allow your body.
To settle fully into the surface beneath you.
That your legs fall naturally apart.
Your feet heavy.
Your jaw soft.
Your shoulders releasing.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhale completely.
With each exhalation.
Imagine releasing tension.
Stress and any feelings.
That say you should be doing something else instead of resting.
Bring to mind a gentle intention for this practice.
Something like.
.
.
I allow myself to rest fully and without guilt.
Or I honour my body and mind by giving them rest.
Repeat your intention silently.
Three times with full awareness,
Letting it sink into your subconscious.
Now come to your body scan.
Starting on the right side.
Relax the right hand thumb.
Frost finger.
Middle finger ring finger,
Little finger.
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hair.
Rest.
Forearm.
Alba.
Upper arm.
Shoulder.
Armpit.
The side of the rib.
Hip.
Thigh.
Knee.
Car.
Uncle.
Heal.
So.
Top of the foot.
The right toes are relaxed.
Now move to the left side of your body.
The thumb.
Bath finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Little finger.
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hand.
Breath.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
The shoulder.
Armpit.
Side of the ribs.
Hip.
Thigh.
May.
Car.
Uncle.
Heel.
So.
.
.
Top of the foot.
The laptose.
Bring awareness to your back.
The love of bats.
Middle back.
Up a bit.
Shoulder blade front of the body.
Power.
Abdomen.
The chest.
Collarbone.
The throat.
Tchoo!
The forehead.
Top of the head.
As you scan each part.
Allow it to soften.
Release and surrender.
Fully into the surface beneath you.
Turn your attention to the natural rhythm of your breath.
Notice the rise and fall of your belly.
The gentle expansion of your chest.
With each inhalation.
Breathing calm.
And permission to rest.
With each exhalation.
Release tension.
Guilt.
Or thoughts that you should be doing more.
And just keep going.
With your breath.
And allow your body to rest deeply.
With each inhalation,
Breathing calm.
And permission to rest.
Now imagine yourself lying in a warm golden light.
This light surrounds you.
Like a soft blanket.
With each breath.
Feel it feeling you with safety,
Ease and acceptance.
Imagine any feelings of guilt as tiny dark clouds within you.
See these clouds slowly dissolving.
Into the golden light.
Leaving your body and mind free.
Repeat silently.
I deserve wrath.
I am enough.
Rest nourishes me.
Return to your sankalpa,
Your intention.
And allow it to manifest.
To comment your life.
Repeat it three times.
With complete feeling and awareness.
Bring awareness now back to your body.
Lying fully supported.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Gently stretching your arms and legs.
Roll to your right side.
Resting briefly in a fetal position.
Carrying the sense of permission to rest.
When you're ready,
Slowly sit up.
You can open your eyes,
Carrying the knowledge that rest is essential.
Restorative and guilt-free.
Hari Om Tat Sat Hari Om Tat Sat Thank you for listening.
Hope to hear from you next time.
Have a great rest of your day.
